Testing 11.6 with game list in file picker

I'll be adding .zip CRC32 support ASAP to shut you up ;)
he aims to please :p

your right, you dont lose THAT much when you compress them per file, but when you consider on my SMC (that i bought solely for this emu, Samsung owes you a pint :)) 90 roms at around 800k each is around 70mb, zipped thats only around 50mb

20mb on a limit of 128mb is not to be sniffed at :p

ok, ok, im lying, i dont really have 90 roms on there (YET), but my point stands :D

p.s. btw im not actually all that fussed, cause if its a comilation disk i just leave them unzipped and zip the ones i know what they are anyway, but if you can do it easily, id be one happy wee man :p

Did you ever give your idea of game folders any more thought? personally i thought this would be a really good idea as then you could have separate saves for each game thats in its own folder (always under gpmm/atarist), and would keep things tidy.... then if you used save state on games on the top level, then those shared the same set of save states. Also having folder would mean you could have an easier view of what disks go for what game when it came to disk swapping (which you do a LOT in Heimdal)

Just an idea :)

Could I inquire about a couple of things

Are you still going to sort my nice new (but cluttered) list alphabetically(Game name; disk name), I really your suggestion of letting us pick favourites from each complation to reduce the number of 'duf' games in our list.

Are you going to widen the the game list as it takes up only about half of the screen

Also you could replace the credits on the front screen with a nice scroller for that intro feel :)

Oh and I started a DM game today v11.6 and when I saved the game it called it D.SAV (disk is DM.STT) Maybe a game save bug creeped in?

Check out the v12 candidate; it has a whole new presentation for the database stuff; totally reworked the living hell out of that menu system of mine :) Pretty swank looking now. You can see a screenshot in the updated manual, too.

As to "favourites", I've sort of ditched that idea for now.. it shows you all the games from all the cached disks now, so we'll see how out of control it gets.

Directories are the next thing on the block.. I'm sort of settig up for it now, internally.

Credits in a big scroller.. yeah, I've been thinkign about it.. some giant fancy ST-looking font whipping by.. the onyl problem with scrollers is they were never that readable, and especially so on a small not well lit GP screen :) Imagine trying to write down a support mail address from a scroller ;)

But I'm thinking about it :)

Re: DM -> D.. woops :) I'll take a look :)

Geez Skeezix your quick ;)

Just seen the updated manual and that game picker is exactly what we need, not going to sleep well in anticipation :)

Kinda at a loss for what I want from a handheld ST now, you have delivered it all :)

Oh I know,

Can you emulate that distinct warm plastic smell my ST gave off? :D

Last thing it "needs" is a directory browser :) (ie: the current two views, but showing only whats in the current directory). That'll come too :) Then thats pretty much it :)

Smell I doubt.. but I ahve been thinking of emulating the grinding of the floppy drives :)
