All of the usual desktop stuff is already fully translated into gazillions of languages, they just need to be put on the NAND, and that's the wound point: E.g. Ubuntu's German Gnome base translation package is over 28MB large, they simply sum up and at some point everyone will find a reason to be happy about what could be done with every free KB saved by omitting stuff like that.
Anyway, there's simply too much stuff with a much higher priority requiring attention, translations are something we should start talking about when the OS reached a far more solid state.
