Thanks everyone for all the advice. I didn't have any insurance on it. I'm not really an insurance person, I have third-party for my car, so I don’t have to pay for messing up someone’s Porsche.
Maybe I could mix some nuts and bolts with an old circuit board and melt in into black plastic and return it with the receipt saying that it doesn’t work.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about what to get next, a PSP, a zodiac (tax deductible) or another gp2x. Maybe another gp2x would be good. Even though I only got my GP2X just over a week ago, it still came with version 1.0.1 firmware and the scan line issue and I don’t want to be treated like that again. I’ll wait a little to see if they change the controller stick mechanism, or if they just replace the nob at the top and if that’s the case; Dave’s cap is on its way to me, so I’d just use that instead.
Could really use a play-asia coupon right now.
I’m not really sure it was my neighbors. Just because they are skankity-skanks, I shouldn’t point the finger. It’s just impossible for someone to get through the security door at the front and then through my front door. It seems more likely that my neighbor climbed my balcony that separates our balconies. And yes, I left my balcony door open because it was hot (45c) and I wanted my apartment to cool down before I got home. I did have my blinds mostly pulled down, so I thought I would be safe. Not going to be that stupid again.
I did fill in a report at the police station. Because our apartments are connected via different security doors, I had no idea what the house unit number was. I doubt I’ll get it back, but atleast I’m in a database somewhere for PSP looking thing that goes by the name gp2x. I’m glad the thief won’t be able to find much use from it, but I had it set up. You just click on games, and then dirs like Duke, Quake and Doom come up. Doesn’t take a rocket-scientist. But I’m sure he won’t be making the most out of it.
I’m glad it happened to me rather some of the people here who saved up a lot to get it. But what kind of a son-of-a-bi**h takes a toy instead of my Symbian UIQ mobile phone sitting next to it, or my gold rings. I have a PC with heaps of goodies inside. He could have had 2gb of DDR400 ram or my Dvico TVIX media player. And he didn’t even touch my Ultima VII Map Tea towel.
