The Hallucinogenic Elf
You might say that my GP2X was the first to be stolen. It was probably mistaken for a PSP or something. In fact, the only thing stolen from my apartment was my GP2X and the one gig card inside, just a week after I got it.
Probably because my thief is most likely my neighbor and he had to climb a 10 foot tall wall that divides our balconies to get in. (So he could only take small things back with him.)
This really pisses me off, because I only just got it and it took months waiting for my order from lik-sang to be cancelled only to switch to another dodgy online store that shipped it out a month after when they said they would.
I’ve really been enjoying it, getting back to all those games I’ve owned over the last two decades, and trying out the ones I never had the opportunity to play. (But remember from all the hype.) I was even starting to get used to the stick. And the thing overclocked solid to 300mhz without crashing. So in all I was extremely happy with it, and it only seems right that something that would be so naturally positive to me would be taken away in some kind of manner.
I won’t be buying a new one. Not because I can’t afford it, but because my girlfriend will be returning from Korea soon, and she hates it when I ignore her and play retro games for hours. (For a good reason, I guess.)
Maybe a little later I’ll grab one, or maybe just a PSP, so I don’t get obsessed but still have a few games to play when I need it. (Plane flights.)
Hopefully, you guys (and gals) will see me in the future, which means I’ve got my GP2X back somehow, or broke down and brought a new one. It was a real pleasure being a part of this community, and despite the idealist GPL debates I’m sure it will continue as a prosperous community.
Ciao
