What are the best speakers for about $100-$160 a pair?

(Got an amp hooked up to my computer and now just need speakers to blast the tunes. ;) )

JBL, Harmon Kardon, Bose or Boston Acoustics are all really good. But Cerwin Vega is probably my favorite, a little expensive though. These Harmon Kardon's look pretty good:

These look damn nice
Here are the specs

I would also advise you to get a sub. My system is, two Cinema One loudspeakers in the front, two EPI's in the back, and an AIWA subwoofer. They're all good speakers, but the sub just brings down the house, it makes my system alot more loud that it is without.

Yeah, I just use my stereo for my speakers through an auxilary input. Aiwa kicks ass. But this is all in my bed room, so I can get away with it better, because it's nmot in some den or in the living room or antyhing like that. But I had bought a set of slimpanel 300W speakers for $8 each. Bought 2 of them in case I ever needed the second. Not too shabby, using hem for my MP3 BOX project so I can have my MP3s playing in my living room.

Damn typos.

I have Altec Lansing 5100 speakers. They're nice enough for my little room :)

Hijacking the thread eh??

Hmmm - in answer - the amp could be knackered. Take it to a repair shop for an opinion, I'd be suprised if anyone here can help!!
