I got a first batch pandora from ebay. I have to say im loving this amazing device but i have the following problems:

1) PToD - I know this is a common problem for first batch units.

2) Wifi problems - Enabling the wifi doesnt work. Still says no network device available. And the led light for wifi doesnt seem to light up. It does show up once or twice in the beginning, but never again after trying numerous times and rebooting.

Im using the hotfix 6 beta 1

My question is if i send this to ED, can he resolve my wifi problems too? a faulty internal wifi unit? And since i do not have an order # (ebay-ed), can i still even send my pandy in?

Thanks in advance for any advices.

I can fix PToD, but as WiFi doesn't even switch on, it seems like WiFi itself has a hardware problem - and I can't fix that.

Those boards need to be fixed by CC...

You could ask the seller about the order number and invoice, you need to RMA it where he bought it, sorry about that :(

Or you can just buy some tiny WiFi stick.

Be wary of buying a tiny wifi stick, check the various software libraries as there is a known working chipset. the ones that i have, have a chipset that needs some fiddling to get going that may be beyond the average user (and me).

vtx, if you are going to buy a wifi stick, there is driver for rtl8192cu (Realtek compact wifi adapter), it is in Belkin Surf micro, Netgear WNA1000M and several other wifi adapters. The driver should work with hotfix6, here's the link: http://www.pandorawi...B_WiFi_adapters, you need 'binary and source' link there. A thread about choosing dongles, building drivers and such (just not to repeat it all over again)

Mosschops, what's your wifi adapter's model? I probably could compile the driver for you and explain how to install it, but you'll have to test it on your own, since my device is currently broken.

ED, I think I dropped my driver to the wrong category, I've heard it's your server, maybe it needs to be moved? http://dl.openhandhe...i?0,0,0,0,1,438 Besides, I'm a little bit worried about my cables order, seems like I ain't gonna see it for next couple of months, it's not even sent yet. Maybe I still could buy a couple of them from you somehow?

thanks all, guess ill be sending over my pandora asap to ED to resolve that PToD issue. Kind of bugging me hehe, but sad to be without a pandora for a while... hope not too long :p

Mosschops & Hoodoo, i've already got a linksys/cisco AE1000, and used the modified driver... EDIT: i got it working...it was hotfix 6...downgraded back to hotfix 5 and it works like a charm :)

I have an AirLink 101 AWLL6080.  Haven't tried it with the Pandora, but it was plug-and-play in Ubuntu 11.04.  It sticks out a few inches, but gets a good signal.  lsusb reports it as

Code:
ID 14b2:3c23 Ralink Technology, Corp. 802.11n adapter

If Ubuntu (or any other mainstream distro) works with this or that piece of hardware, it doesn't imply Angstrom would. Pandora works with older version of kernel, and it's stripped of unnecessary modules (Linux hardware drivers are written as kernel modules).
