Joyrider (me) released a new version of sokoban for the gp2x with many new levels (there are 704 in total now)
This is what's new :
- Fixed bug in the level unlocking mechanism, Current state wasn't correctly loaded
- Added Center level feature in the level editor
- Added microcosmos, minicosmos, nabokosmos, picokosmos, polycosmos, lomas, gameboy boxxle (1+2), shove it,sokevo and sokhard level packs ... 680 new levels !
- Changed level finding function, finds the total amount of levels much faster now
- Added volume controls and volume setting saving

you can get the files here:
gp2x : http://www.willemssoft.be/zip/sokobangp2x.zip or from the archive : http://www.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,25,1540
windows : http://www.willemssoft.be/zip/sokobangp2xwin.zip

I really love these puzzles, and hope to release my level pack soon (sorry I couldn't get it done in time for the 1.0 release)

Puting this on my SD card right now and I can say it is quite a pain with 700+ files. I am no coder but do you think it would be possible to put your lvl packs in some sort of compressed file like .rar and then have the gp2x uncompress them? That would make the game have about 50 files.

Not to mention it shaves off about 2mb.

Well I am off to play this, or maybe go to sleep who knows!

Goddamn, this is probably the best sokoban game I've ever played! My wife will love this...

I've got this 4-color colored block version that is built into my Hadji-garbage TV set that you can play with the remote. I think that it has a resolution of like 80x60! It's the bomb!

hi,

thanks for the responses.
I still need to bring out the fix for the volume problem when a music loops, i figured out a way around it but i don't like it that much however it's the only way i could find so i'll keep it like this. I also gotten one more level author who authorized me to use his levels, i'll see that i can include those as well and release a new version.

about compressing the levelpacks, well for starters i have no clue whatsoever how i can do this (i'm fairly new to c /c++) and it would be a pain to implement this perfectly as well when using the leveleditor. i doubt this will happen.

i'll see that i can bring out a fixed version pretty soon but i've lost a bit of my motivation. Currently not working on any projects for the gp2x
