I have just bought an SMC reader/writer, but it will not work for GP32 formated cards. It will work fine for any other card though.

The problem is that I have a card that I no longer need to use for my GP32, but I don't know how to reformat it to a standard format that the SMC reader will be able to recognise.

Any help would be great

Use the PC link 1.3 or 1.2 to reformat. Go to file then Format. Its sets up your entire SMC GP card for you!!

Ah well, I think he meant it exactly the other way round... he wants to use an old GP card as a normal
card using the writer.

This should be no problem. You just can format the disc using windows (right click on the drive and "Format").

The reason why some writer can't read gp32 smcs is, cause they are formatted using FAT12, not FAT16.
Not all writers do support this.

I would reformat it the way mentioned above, but my SMC reader will not recognise that the card is present and so will not format it.

It would be great if someone came up with a piece of software allowing the GP32 to format the SMC in FAT32 mode
