Ok, Ive narrowed my Graphics card search down to these 2...

Geforce 4 Ti 4200 64MB DDR Ram

or

Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128MB DDR Ram

Geforce 4 Ti 4200 (64Mb)-
64Mb DDR RAM
Memory Clock speed 500Mhz
Clock speed 250Mhz
Memory Bandwidth 8Gb/s

Geforce 4 Ti 4200 (128Mb)-
128Mb DDR RAM
Memory Clock speed 444Mhz
Clock speed 250Mhz
Memory Bandwidth 7.1Gb/s

Which one do you think I should get???

I can only find the Geforce Ti 4200 64MB DDR in one shop PC World for £65 and I cant find the 128MB DDR version anywhere Except Ebay Used...

Thanks

which one out of these is the best card do you think??

ASUS V8420 NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128MB DDR

Although the 'turbo' option of the Albatron does sound tempting, I recommend the ASUS, you can never go wrong with ASUS.

On the same subject, I've not been keeping up on gfx card developments and I have a Geforce2 64Mb GTS.

Is there any 3D card around the £100 mark that would give a significant speed increase (in UT2004!!) I'm running a 1.8Ghz P4

cheers

frolik.

You can prolly easily OC the 128MB one (w/o cooling or anything) to 265/460 and you get almost the same speed as the 64MB + you get 64MB more RAM.... Get the 128MB one :)

what processor are you running and what gfx card are you upgrading from?

I'll be interested to know what it performs like in UT2004 as this is primarlily what I want it for.

£58 sounds like a bit of a cheapy card considering the high end prices.....

£58 is an Excellent Price for a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128MB DDR...

I have a Athlon XP 1600

Ill let you know how it runs the UT2004 Demo...

I have played the UT2004 Demo on a Machine with a FX5200 card in and it Worked PERFECTLY... A Ti 4200 Is More Powerfull than a FX5200 :D

Im upgrading from a Geforce 2 MX440

I really can't believe the advice given in this thread. :(

The 64MB Ti4200 version is considerably faster in games than the 128MB version (Apart from the Albatron turbo, which can overclock to nearly Ti4600 speeds in most cases.)

Most games don't need anywhere near 128MB of video memory, and any that do are going to run like treacle on a Ti4200 anyway.

In very few games does the 128MB version beat the 64MB version.

Actually, I take that back. The 64MB is not considerably faster these days, they're pretty much equal with some games being faster on one and some faster on the other. That said, a 64MB model will overclock to around 600Mhz DDR in a lot of cases... my MSI 64MB Ti4200 did 310mhz core 615mhz memory, which is only just short of a Ti4600. :)
