Season Dvd's To Individual Episodes?

I was wondering if there was a program that would auto-break up Season DVD's to individual episodes. I just got He Man and wanted to format them to my GP2X. It's 33 episodes on 6 DVD's, but I want to make each episode a separate mpeg file, and load them onto my SD card as I watch them. I have a few programs that shrink video files down to the iPod and PSP formats that I can use, but any rippers to break up the episodes?

Thanx,
Stan

I would think there's a lot of rippers that would allow ripping only selected titles, etc... take a look around on http://www.doom9.org - there's lots of video related how-tos and programs on there.

FairUse Wizard Google it, it is by far the best ripper encoder I have ever used .

These are the best sites you can go to for encoding and ripping movies . Enjoy .

I have honestly been thinking about making a simple script for virtualdubmod to encode files to 320x480 perfect xvid style . But I suck at all things coding .

Doesn't virtualdub support a batch mode? I never used it so I don't know if it would be useful, but it's worth a look.

Handbreak is awesome, it does everything, and you can make a cue, rips it off the DVD, encodes it, then starts on the next episode. It's kinda slow though. Oh, also, it names and XViD .mp4, and mplayer apparently can't play it. I deleted it before I tried renaming it to .avi. Anyone have any experience with xvid on the GP2X? I know most of the TV shows I have are xvid and the extension is .avi.

Thanx,
Stan

All the xvids I threw at it worked fine. B)

In the same general vein, what settings has everyone been using for gp2x video encoding? I'm assuming that you wouldn't watch LotR [1] repeatedly at 5fps with a purple Frodo.

I use DVD::rip, it handles episodes easily enough - I was watching the first series of Red Dwarf in the laundrette the other day :)

Plus of course, there's a guide already out there on how to use dvd::rip to rip titles for the GP2X. . . ;)

As far as I know, the resolution to this problem is simply to change two of the dropdown menus: "Encoder" (located in the "Video" boxout on the left) should be set to "XviD", and "File format" (located in the "Destination" boxout in the upper right corner) needs to be changed to "AVI". ;)

I saw that last night, I miss a lot on new programs, but got it figured out now. Handbrake is pretty cool, I can have the queue set up to go through all 6 DVD's, it will take quite a while though. I ripped on episode and watched it on the GP2X, the screen is really high quality, I thought it wouldn't be with all the 'flicker' complaints I've been hearing about.

Thanx,
Stan
