Scummvm Question

Finally got my GP32 - off Ebay in the end, settling for a standard BLU unit that overclocks happily to 164mhz :)

But anyway, after busying myself all day with flawless megadrive emulation, I thought I'd give Scumm a try. I got the fxe and the files for Samnmax, compressed the audio as instructed to a much smaller mp3 format, shoved it all on my smc and loaded it all up. However, even after the fiddling about, the sound doesn't appear to work..

Using the 0.5 version I get occasional background midi, and the 0.3 version, despite being a bit faster plays nothing at all. I know of a few problems with the rats and the intro crashing the program altogether and was prepared to combat that - but I was slightly perturbed about the sound. I'm sure I read someone else on here was playing with audio.

As usual, any help appreciated.

The scumm port for the gp32 supports only ogg format, no mp3 :D
You could have read that in the readme of the scumm port...

Had a feeling about that after I posted..

I read about converting to OGG, but couldnt figure it out. I put the *.sou file to be converted, the lame codec, and the extractor program all in a temporary folder as it says in the readme *"same as mp3 procedure"* and used the run command it had given with vorbis in it, however, I just get a quick flash of a dos prompt and then 3 eroneus files appear..

Any help on this last step would be great..

Just convert your mp3 to ogg using dbpoweramp (its quick and its dirty ;))

Will it work just converting a *.so3 (mp3) file straight to a *.sog (ogg) file?

All sorted.. I was missing the correct ogg encoder.. *slaps head*

The eventual outcomes a bit too slow to handle though, so I think I'll just stick to Monkey Island ;)
