True at he wasn't actually born on Dec 25th. The stable didn't keep good medical records. :D

The whole 25th thing was hijacked from a Roman holiday as they noticed that around this time the days were getting longer again and celebrated. The christians thought hey everyone is celebrating at this time anyway lets make it "Jesus's birthday"

I thought it was a Greek celebration for the god "Apollo"? Well anyways, why is everyone in Germany actually thinking of Santa Claus? When I was a child I was told lies about the "Christkind" (as in "Christkindlsmarkt" etc) and not "Weihnachtsmann". This is this American idea again, why can't Germans and other people keep to their own traditions? Why do we have to take everything from the americans? WHY?

Dunno, angels are supposedly somewhat androgynous creatures...

I think the russian version is "Old Man Frost" or something...

You are correct. He's identical to Santa Claus in every way except that he's skinny and tall, wears a long red cape that trails behind him, and has one of those LONG white beards instead of wide ones. Also, he has a daughter. And he comes at New Year's, during the night.

In Canada, though (where I now live), it's exactly the same as in the US.

P.S.
And it's an Idea from Coke anyway!

No, it's not. That's just a rumour that's been dispelled (check that "urban legends" website... I forgot the exact address).

I know almost as little as you do...

ZX Spectrum on Old-computers.com

It's an old computer like the C64, that was popular in Europe. It was released in 1982. Has some classic games.

Don't be too shocked though. The graphics and sound capability of this computer are quite rudimentary, even for its day. It was close to an AppleII in graphics/sound I think. The C64 and Atari 800 were more advanced.

Don't count on it! The only thing I ever win consistently is an idiot contest.

Home to some classic games (Manic Miner, Lords of Midnight, Scuba Dive, etc.).

The gameplay of many Spectrum games transends the limited graphics and sound.
