... and posted a big greeting in the zodiac boards.
So, now hes ready to develop for zodiac !
Hopefully he does not stop his gp32 projects or spends about 85% at zodiac dev... :(

(and zodiac and gp32 both arms in arms? pff..)

time spend by rlyeh in gp32 code: 75%
´´ ´´ ´´ ´´ ´´ zodiac: 25%

future? the same, why? he says that wants to end the work in fgen, and the next project would be fmame, or fneogeo (yes, fneogeo)

no problem with the situation =)

Wolfsclaw, I think you have a serious "Zodiac problem".

you constantly slag it off, but then spend half your time spamming the Zodiac boards about how much better the GP32 is and then exppect them to respond nicely.

I mean if there were as many Zodiac fanboys spamming our boards as there is GP32 fanboys on theirs, this place would go wild.

And now you post this in an attempt to get people more scared of the potential competition of the Zodiac, when Rlyeh has consistently stated that he will finish his GP32 projects. All this will lead to is Rlyeh getting more hassle from GP32 newbies.

And after all, why bother posting here at all when us GP32x guys are too stupid for you.

So... What should we do against it? Let him do whatever he thinks is best.

But on the other hand it's not quite nice of the Zodiac people to just buy all the other good coders from other communitys. Hmm. But on the other other hand, they paid him for joining them. (At least I think so. - Did they buy the Zodiac for him?)

Bla. After all, who cares. GP32 already has a lot of good stuff and I'm 100% sure that there will be more to come in the future. Just relax.

I have a plan! let's do absolutely NOTHING about it and let rlyeh have some fun! :D

or we could start paying him €10 per hour, your choice :)

Umm, they are getting quite often on my nervs when they post lies about the gp32, i hear them all the time saying things like "gp32 will be dead soon" or "gba emu on gp32 is impossible, but on zodiac it will definitely be possible".

and declaration, to that "stupid gp32x" thing, it was only because i didnt read the fully thread and i oversaw the thing that someone already mentioned the megabyte - megabit thingy, im sorry for that.

and please someone move this thread or delete, excuse me.

Annoys the hell out of me when they haven't tried both of them but still make fun of the GP32. Oh well what can we do?

Rlyeh is a good developer. He's not getting paid for developing on the GP32. So if he wants to leave he is more than free to. Its his life. We didn't make him sign a contract or something.

P.S. If you really wanna make fun of Zodiac. Keep reminding them that they got scammed for a GBA emu :).

umm, it should have been an excuse and im not making fun of the zodiac nor rlyeh or anyone/anything else
just again:
i see my mistakes and im sorry for the wrong things i said and i overracted a bit on the zod boards.
i do more than respect rlyeh and love him for all the things he already did for the gp32 community. i was only a bit dissapointed that rlyeh now got this CW and we will *probably* not see *that* many updates from him anymore, i know its his life and all. maybe you understand that, for example didnt you sometime think when a dev moved on to another console "oh shit no more updates of his blabla!" ?

Yah I agree.

I am probably gonna flame the hell out of the Zodiac community now that they flamed me. They turn a simple topic into some sort of flame war.

If you look at the Zodiac vs GP32 topic. No one flamed each others views. The people on that board get angry very easily. I would probably like it more if they treated people with some courtesy. Read this:

http://www.emuboards.com/invision/index.ph...75&#entry157208

Just a sample:

Shut your mouth and go back to the GP32 websites if you simply want to argue on a Zodiac website. Hurray that you think the GP32 will beat the Zodiac but it has been around much longer and at the sales both are producing, I don't think on a mass market look, neither is a great success. In fact, argueing over technology that will be obsolete in a few months is so pointless it makes my stomach turn. Go read a book, go learn something new, go spend time with someone you love, go do something else besides argue, and stop using the pointless human emotion that makes you simply want your point of view the only poiont of view.

Don't you have other things to worry about than what some anonymous community thinks about some unknown, gameboyesque handheld? Noone really profits from all that time you spend on talking about that.

Just my idea. Ignore me and have fun.

Yes, Rlyeh now has 2 Zodiacs, codewarrior, and an unknown amount of GP32's. But, who cares? He'll develope for what he wants to regardless of anyone else. Buying him another Zodiac and Codewarrior isn't going to make him switch overnight - he'll still develope for what /he/ wants to develope for, and I think he already made that clear.

Personally, however, I think it's just going to turn into another Yoyo incident. He'll release an emulator some time in the future, and the rest of the board will scream and shout saying they can't use it because it's not signed. The more emulators he releases, the more people that complain, and he'll probably stop doing them. Talking of which, I've not seen Yoyo do anything for a while, but that could be because the GPL issue still hasn't been solved.

yoyo has stated that if the gpl issues aren't sorted then he won't bother deving for the zod, hes going to move to palmos5.

Yah I quoted that in my post on the Zodiac Gamer boards. They don't want to admit it though.

Tapwave could have really done something good in the homebrew community but they ruined it with the GPL issues in my opinion.

just point them to the ljz page:

It will be perhaps one of the last few updates before switching to standard PalmOS 5, i.e. without supporting Zodiac
if GPL issue with Tapwave license cannot be solved.

Link here, to use as evidence.

I've done one application for the Z (Alpha version of Lynx emu). I have the same problem as Yoyo - it contains large amounts of GPL code, but I'm not allowed to distribute the code under the Tapwave Developer Agreement. Also, I have to send every version to Tapwave for signing, or restrict the release to developers only. Not something I wanted to do.

Doing PalmOS5 only support doesn't really interest me, as I think with the way things are going at the moment, we are going to find more Microsoft stuff in more and more handheld devices unfortunately. Hell, they've even got an OS for MMDs now (Multi Media Devices - like MP3 players and Video players). So I don't see the point there.

So I've decided to scrap all Zodiac development and just do GP32 stuff until the next thing comes out thats looks interesting (probably the DS).

Unfortunately though he said he is moving from Zodiac to Palm OS5, but didn't mention going back to GP32 stuff :(
