Hi there peoples! I'm I bit screwed... I bought a creative muvo mp3 player over the net. I'm sure you've seen them. They work as removable media when plugged into a usb port, and an mp3 player when plugged into a separate battery unit. The only problem is, since i've got a smc reader/writer for faster sending of stuff to my gp, the muvo is detected as the card reader/writer. The software which formats the muvo in a certain way will not detect the device, as windows thinks it is something else.It won't even show up in explorer. It says there is no valid media in the device. I think a lot of people have had trouble with this one. If I'd owned it before the gp it would have been okay, but now, I'm totally stuck for what to do next. Any ideas?
Thanks for reading this.
Nice job with the 15 day compo guys!
See you all later. Jace

i had the same problem with an ordinary USB stick and a smartmedia adapter. The solution I found was:

Go to device manager, uninstall the smartmedia adapter, plug in the memory stick (in your case, the muvo), install ITS drivers, and then plug in the smartmedia adapter AT THE SAME TIME (i.e. in another port). Them install its drivers and the system will differentiate fbetween them from then on.

Nice one! That's got it. It was a nightmare. Anyone thinking of getting one of these, be warned, though they claim 12 hours battery life, that's only really accurate for 128kbps mp3s, if you try wmas that drops to just a few hours :(
Thanks for the help. I'm off for a cup of coffee and a sneaky ciggie. See you about. Have a good christmas if I don't see you before! Ho Ho Ho!
