Hey all...

I just got my GP2x tonight (birthday gift), it came from play-asia.com .... I opened the box, took the plastic screen cover off of it's little film covering it, and it is SCRATCHED ALL TO HELL. As if it was on another gp2x, and left it someones pocket uncovered multiple times.

I still put it on, until I get a replacement.... but who do I complain to? It had finger prints all over it, but the stickers were still on the box holding it shut (and didn't look tampered in the least). Do i go to play-asia? Or straight to GPH?

Thank you, this is important to me, as I have been waiting forever for this thing, and it's fucking scratched ..

btw, gp2x is NOT "first edition"

A lot of people have claimed this but 100% of them realized later that there was another protective plastic bit that hadn't been removed yet.

Hopefully your case will be the same :D

Yes, just remove that hard-to-see top layer of vinyl film ... you'll  too, we all did :)

There wasn't one on my gp2x screen...I only had one on the back of my screen cover, the front of my screen cover and the battery light indicator...The actual screen itself had nothing on it that I noticed...

So...should i take off my cover and try to get that film off my screen? Does it make a lot of difference in the brightness and whatnot?

you shouldn't have to take the cover off, it's on the surface facing you. just pick at a corner and it will peel off.

Just pick at the corners of the protector, theres a thin layer over the actual one. This happened to me also so don't worry about it.

But I ddint know there was one over the battery indicator..although it doesn't bother me lol

Yeah, I got it ... feel like a moron =/

Thanks all, you saved me a lot of pain and anger =)

Alright...I'm talking about the actual physical screen itself...not the thick plastic piece you put over it...The actual LCD or TFT or whatever it is...there's not protective film on that is there...? I knew about the one on the hard plastic screen cover thing...

On mine, which I received in early December, had a protective layer over the LCD itself, but there was a red "tab" that made it obvious there was a protector. If you would have put the hard plastic screen cover on without removing the LCD's protective plastic layer, the red tab would be flopping out from under the cover.

they could paint the layer black, but there will still be some morons who dont notice it. "help me my screen is all black, its faulty, you suck omfg".
Seriously, RTFM
