I guess you guys won't care too much about this since you get so much awesome wine stuff and quake3 game these days, but I compiled qwinff, a general all purpose converter between different audio and video formats. You never know when you might need it !

http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=qwinff

Note: OGG conversion does not work. Not sure why. Same as in Asunder.

Let me know your feedback. And rate in the repo, please.

Is that a Joke?

I waited Years for a Software like this on Pandora.

Coooooool.

Finaly a Pandora Video Converter PND.

Have it Teemplates?

Can we make a Pandora Template for this?

Is this Mencoder based?

Wooow.

So unfortune i must go work now and have a loooong work Day again.

So lessing Time for all other Things *sob*

Big Thank for releasing this :)

I am curious what for Video Formates are supported.

FLV MP4 AVI MPEG ASF WMV and and and...

I will try much with this because i want to make my Musicvideos more Pandora Combatible.

...btw :is there a Function to normalize Audio?

So this program can convert, say, .avi video files into .flv movie files if you wanted?

I'm curious, because I would obviously like the smallest possible size for my movie files to get the most on each SD card.  Is .avi the smallest, or can you get smaller - without losing quality?

Avi is not a format, it's a container. An avi file can contain any type of video file.

So, this converter can convert whatever you have in an avi file into another format if the both formats are supported.

Converting does not necessarily means getting a smaller file. It depends how you compress it. And usually a smaller file means you lose quality somewhere, the question is then whether you see the difference or not.

Wow, I was just thinking about this just the other day, nice one!

I tried it yesterday and the Gui start but dont work because unknown error when i press start.

This Evening will i try again and will report exactly :)

Maybe because i used MP3 56Kbit as Sound.

Tried it only shortly.

Well, what I was thinking of is this:

Some movies I have been able to use AutoGK with.  Others would not start on Pandora that way, and I had to re-do them with PocketDvix.

The Pocket Dvix files come out a little bigger than the AutoGK files.  Was wondering if one could compress the files down from the 800-900 MB range down to the about 700 of AutoGK, so I could get a few extra movies on a disk.

Anyone know if this could be a compression tool or are there compression tools out there that would do the trick?

I use SMPlayer2 for my movies, so any format IT supports, is okay with me.

PND Runout says:

QGtkStyle was unable to detect the current GTK+ theme.
Qt: Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed

And i got FFmpegErrorMessages.

Tried converting MP4 Musicvideo to Avi =failed

tried converting Avi to MPG using the VCD Template=failed

tried the same mp4 Musicvideo to WMV=wooooork :) with xbox template.

tried the same mp4 Musicvideo to FLV Web Video woork.

OK seem Format Problems. Avi and Mpeg seem not work right.

Found no Function to make own Templates.

Seem that this "auto" Templates not work.

But now sleep :) good night ;)

Versatility, versatility, versatilibility! That's what really gives the Pandora value! Can do anything, anywhere.

Thanks for porting this sir

Very good, hope the bugs get ironed out.

And no on handbrake.  I tried it, hated it.

I use Auto Gordian Knot, and Pocket Dvix and DVDFab.

If you know these program you will know why I do not like handbrake.

Hello friends,

I'm the author of QWinFF and I would like to thank you for porting and using this program. Regrettably, QWinFF is aimed to be a ffmpeg GUI frontend and doesn't support mencoder. I focus on creating an intuitive and comfortable ffmpeg GUI frontend for those who frequently needs to convert between media formats (including myself). Output presets shown in the program (which you called Templates) can be viewed and modified in /usr/share/qwinff/presets.xml.

Recently I have fixed some bugs related to interfacing with newer version of ffmpeg (specifically ffmpeg 1.2+). Would you please tryout the latest development version and see if it works? The source code (mercurial repository) can be found at http://code.google.com/p/qwinff/source/checkout. If you don't use mercurial, I also prepared a snapshot of the repo: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1851739/qwinff_0.1.8-hg585.tar.gz. If you find any problem or want to add a preset, please feel free to contact me.

By the way, the Japanese translation is a little bit out-of-date. Many new messages haven't been translated yet. Could anyone please complete the translation? I have listed the missing translations at https://gist.github.com/lzh9102/bfb63847670ec1459ffb, you can just translate the messages on github and e-mail them to me at lzh9102@gmail.com (or leave a comment on that page). If you prefer to work on Qt translation files (*.ts), you can download it at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1851739/qwinff-0.1.8-hg585.ts.

Thank you very much.

P.S. I noticed that this forum allow file attachment just after I finished typing this message, so I attached the files mentioned above for archiving purpose.

qwinff-0.1.8-hg585.ts.zip

EDIT:

Packaging: A new file "src/constants.xml" to deploy has been added (in the same directory as presets.xml). Please don't forget to add this file to your build process if that matters.

EDIT 2:

Translation to other languages are also welcomed. Existing translation files are available at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1851739/qwinff-ts-20130824.zip. The current translation can also be viewed (anonymous ok) and edited (login required) at https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/qwinff/.
