Question about post-release

Well I should have stated, SGX and rotation with Xorg is more of the issue.
Well yes but if it turns out there's no way to get both working together, won't that mean having to put the rotation chip back in, or have no 3D acceleration?

I've been told it's only a software problem, the hardware is capable.

Just because it's a software problem doesn't necessarily mean it'll get fixed, only the potential for it to be fixed. You still need a developer with enough understanding of all the related software to actually make it work.

Well yeah, I've been trying to hint at that fact this whole conversation. You would also just as easily need someone to implement the hardware rotation chip, it's even less of a viable solution due to different complications.

Sorry, i took your comments as "we won't need the rotator chip because we can fix software", when if a developer can't be found, that might actually have to be an option brought back to the table.

Wait, if Xorg rotation and 3D acceleration won't work together, couldn't we still have fullscreen programs be accelerated, and rotated using something else?
