Pyra as a diplay and controller for stick pc?

Yea, I was was wondering if I can use the pyra as a display and a controller for my azuelle access plus, which is a portable, fully functional windows 10 stick drive that hooks up to any moniter or smart tv. This would add on to the portability factor because now I can play my favorite old windows pc games like empire earth, morrowind, and runescape on the go but still have the Pyra as my main device for everything else. Kinda like having a wifey with a mistress on the side (wifey being the Pyra). If not that's fine I'm still excited to get a Pyra! Thanks again to all of you who make this wonderful project happen.

Yes, that sounds like a usecase for VNC or some more modern protocol for transferring video and input from one machine to another.

Although you'd have to define 'on the go'. I'd expect that sort of protocol to be pretty usable over a good wifi connection, but on 3G or worse you might have more trouble, and might rack up big bills while experimenting.

I haven't looked into the thingy you want to use, however my answer would probably be the same if I had: Maybe.

I don't know what sort of connector it has, but I doubt it would work while connected to the Pyra's video out port. I don't think you will be able to use just that thing and the Pyra alone. With a USB tv card type thing that works with Linux it should work how you want, but that means more stuff to buy and carry around (and probably less battery life to go with it).

Unless I'm missing something, then no, this won't work (at least not the way you think).
This "azuelle access plus" seems to be an "HDMI stick" computer, so you need to put it into a device, that has an HDMI in port, like a monitor. But the Pyra only has an HDMI out port, like any other computer.

The thingy he's got is basically a computer running Win10 in the form of a stick that plugs into his TV (probably via HDMI). For our purposes, it's a Windows computer.

Well I don't have the azuelle access plus yet. Im still expecting it in the mail so I haven't used it and I really don't know if it does what it says it can. But there's videos showing people gaming with it. Anyway thanks guys for your answers.

Does it have an Nvidia GPU that supports streaming? If so, you could use Moonlight, assuming it gets ported to the Pyra.

These are the basic specs for it in case anybody is wondering. I figured with all these different ports and Bluetooth and wifi there should be a way to use this baby with the pyra to play windows games.

2GB RAM DDR3L – 4GB RAM DDR3L
32GB storage
USB 3.0 (1), USB 2.0 (1)
Microphone Support
USB mouse wired & wireless support
USB keyboard wired & wireless support
Dual Band Wi-Fi (2.4G / 5G Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0
Intel® CherryTrail™ T3 Z8300 Quad-Core, 1.44 GHz (up to 1.84 GHz)
Ethernet port (1)

I would need a diplay/mouse/keyboard/ to use moonlight right? but my question is can I use the pyra as my diplay /controller/keyboard/mouse instead of hooking all these things up separate? Then I can do it on a plane while carrying everything in my pocket. And as far as batteries go well, we can buy an unlimited supply of those with the pyra so I'll carry a few extras for a long trip.

I'd say no, there is no HDMI input, just an output on the Pyra. I suppose maybe if you could find some USB HDMI capture card or something... but then carry a bunch of cables and such. You may just be happy with a GPD WIN honestly if you want a Windows experience on a handheld, although personally I don't like the design, well or the fact it run Windows.

No thanks I prefer quality and the ONLY reason I bought the stick pc thing was because it was the cheapest way to play those 3 games I mentioned earlier because im saving money for the Pyra ,but im mostly a retro gamer and I like my freedom and quality made products so ill stick with the Pyra. Rite now I just have a gpd xd which may have a year left in it. Cant wait to replace it with the most perfect device ever the "Pyra"!

Why would you need an HDMI input to run moonlight?

Not that he can run moonlight, since the computer he wants to run games on does not have nvidia graphics, but he could still use something like VNC (although in my experience, even 2D games are a bit beyond VNC's capabilities - though that was a good few years back now).

I didn't think my post had anything to do with moonlight. I guess someone mentioned it above and I even quoted it...

It sounded like from his post he wanted some miraculous way of jamming one of those HDMI PC sticks in the back of the Pyra and make use of the controls and LCD screen of the Pyra. I'm sure there are VNC or some other streaming methods, but I doubt it would be ideal.

My bad guru, I didn't know it was that "miraculous" I was asking honest questions that sounded reasonable to me, but then again i'm no expert at these things .Just a simple man in the military trying to make my time serving a little easier. thanks again.

There seems to be a runescape Linux client based on Java that some people got to run on Android/arm. So you might be able to use that on the Pyra natively.
I suggest you get a Debian installation up on your x86 computer and try this Java client while you're waiting for the Pyra.
