I was hoping this information would be on the Tips and Tricks thread but oh well. Which screen protector should I get for the screen?

Being a touch screen, You will want to be really careful that that ny protector you put on it will not 1) damage the display, or 2) interfere with the input.

That said, I don't know what to suggest because so few people use them due to the screen already being protected when you close the case.

You know the said can be said for the Nintendo DS but eventually they get scratched and when I had my original PSP Phat I would put a cleaning cloth over the screen and close it in it's protective case but after a while I got a scratch.

Not in my experience, but eh. :P

Anyway, the type of screen-protector you'll be wanting, if you really want to go that route, would be one to fit the Archos 605 WiFi - the Pandora uses the same screen as that device. :)

I have a screen protector from 3M on my Nokia N800 and it is awesome. After a few months of heavy stylus use it looks kinda scratched up but you just put some rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and wipe down the screen with it and looks brand new again. It doesn't interfere with touch input either. It's been there for at least two years now with no issues at all.

Are there any newer devices with close enough screens to the Pandora for which we could find screen protectors to use with the latter? On my trusted websites, I can't find anything for the 605 screen - but I can find something for the Archos 43 which apparently has the same diagonal, and also appears widescreen (but is slightly higher resolution). Does anyone know if that would suit?

I always use protectors with my touchscreen screens. Especially if it's a device you take out and about with you, common areas of the screen you touch will eventually get scratched as grains of sand or grit get trapped momentarily under the stylus. The best protectors I've used are Hori brand, but they only make protectors for video games consoles, rather than general purpose handheld computers that are also very good at playing games.
