Port Requests

Ugh, I was thinking of something I'd like on the pandora just today, and I forgot... I need to write these things down...

edit: I suppose this would run out of the box? It's a python program...

YEs, that should be (relatively) easy to port, as it just requires python and gtk. Don't expect to get the Fritz or Rybka engines running on the Pandora, though.

I'd be happy enough with GnuChess or the default PyChess engine :)

Could it be possible to port "Streets of Rage Remake"? There's a Wiz version. What I don't know is if sources are available, but I suppose probability is high because of the Wiz version.

Heroes (http://heroes.sourceforge.net), an old light-cycle style game, would probably play nicely on the Pandora.

The codebase is pretty ancient (ported from DOS, hasn't been touched since 2002), but it's GPL and Linux is the primary target.

Will take a look at this. Nice find!

Edit: compiling takes me nowhere than to a segfault, but it runs perfectly in ginge :)

I think I'm using an older version of ginge, I've tried it and it runs a little fast. But it works, might have to underclock if it is still fast after I update Ginge.

Thanks for trying!

¿What about Ren'Py? http://www.renpy.org/

It's an open source visual novel engine. There are a lot of visual novels that use this engine and could be directly playable on Pandora if this gets ported. I asked in the general forum and got told this should be easily portable because most of it is coded in Python and dependencies are already available for Pandora or should be easy to compile because they are in Angstrom repositories. The library uses OpenGL, but can also use software rendering if this is a problem.

Anyone interested in porting this?

I currently use my OP to listen a radio station online when I go to bed. It would be great if I could easily tell the OP to shutdown after a time. I have seen the software: GShutdown Could somebody with knowledge port it? Thanks a lot.
