Port Requests

Damn, was wanting to add a port request for Darwinia, but I can't find a link to the source code.

I'll probably revisit Darwinia at some point. I have the source and it's on my list.

Where is the gcw sourcecode?
I might have a look at this on monday.

^ I couldn't find it when I looking for it the other day, I'm not even sure where GCW people keep their packaged software.

Is this the vanilla jfsw? I would be more interested in the changes they needed to fet it to build for the gcw.

Edit: Well, I'll have a shot at it on monday, if Trashy isn't faster ;)

Got it compiled and it runs. Need to do some config changes and stuff for the right resolution and controls. Will add that tomorrow.

Edit:

Some stuff that doesn't really work:

- Mouselook is not possible as mouseaiming doesn't seem to be implemented.

- The nub in joystickmode is recognized but doesn't work. I think there is no support in jfsw yet. You can use the left nub for walking in analog mousemode though.

- Because of the different screen aspect ratio, the sprite for the sword is drawn in the middle and looks like it is cut off, where you would never see the border of the sprite on a 4:3 screen.

Still untested:

- Playing ogg music while playing. As SW doesn't use a midisoundtrack and it is difficult to put an audiocd into the Pandora, I need to rip the musicfiles somehow and put them into appdata to play thhem while gaming. Need to test that a bit more...

Other than that it is very playable and I will make a pnd today.

If it'd be possible, any chance of a port of the OGRE3D and Bullet libraries. Specifically Ogre 1.7
Ogre3D is part the many libs I try to compile for code::blocks, I use the latest one (I think it's 1.8, I have to check), but, for now, ogles-1 doens't build, and ogles-2 doesn't works...

For bullet, it compile easily under code::blocks (it was part of SuperTuxKart, no problems here).

What about Aquaria? As far as I know  the source is available since some of the humble bundles. Would be very cool to play it on pandora.

I have the intro + up to the menu working. The menu is bugged and won't let me use the buttons to enter the game, so nothing past that yet.

Is it maybe possible to port the Zandronum engine for Doom on the Pandora ?

Here's some Infos:

Zandronum is a client-server multiplayer-oriented source port based on Skulltag.

Zandronum modernizes Doom, the game that changed the gaming world.

One of many features in Zandronum that modernizes Doom, is the support of the OpenGL renderer.

OpenGL, based from GZDoom, gives the environment a new fresh new look and also has support for 3D objects.

Additionally, Zandronum has improved multiplayer support and dynamic servers.

Zandronum supports up to 64 players, and clients can freely join any game servers at any time without having

to wait for the host to launch a connection - - similarly in ZDoom. Also, Zandronum has an abundance of game modes.

Such game modes can be a simple cooperative game, invasion, deathmatch, or maybe capture the flag with four teams.

Plus, Zandronum is very active and always moving forward. Zandronum is always active in both developments,

community events, and the games hosted on various servers. These are just some of the many features that Zandronum

continues to modernize the game that changed the gaming world.

Zandorum Homepage:  http://zandronum.com/

IWAD's that Zandorum supports are here:  http://wiki.zandronum.com/IWAD

Zandorum Wiki Main Page: http://wiki.zandronum.com/Main_Page

Source Code, The source is available on Bitbucket:  https://bitbucket.org/Torr_Samaho/zandronum

By the way of the great possibility to play online against or with other Pandora Players   ,

there are so many Modification (Mod's) or Total Conversions (TC's) we could play on the Pandora.

For example "Megaman 8-bit deathmatch" :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUemLoGkCK8

or many other Game modes.

I'm playing this sometimes on my PC and it would be easily to Host a Multiplayer Server with Zandorum + Doomseeker

on the PC , maybe with a Standard Password for Pandora Users so that other PC Gamers with external Mouse

and Keyboard could not join :p  , because of the gaming fairness .

Anyway, even the Singleplayer Mod's / TC's would be realy great on the Pandora and makes much fun.

So if a port to OpenGL-ES isn't possible or difficult, maybe a Software render Port would also be nicely ,

some Modifications and the Multiplayer should work than as well.

Greetings, Shao
