i went last year to bath meetup (15 miles from where i live) a great time it was with the bomberman tournament with prizes supplied by liksang.com and our favourite GBAX.com in the form of 1 gp32 in black shell, some black shells, a carry case & future of video games dvd's there were also exclusive betas distributed at the meet such as Black's GPengine v0.5 Multi player RF Edition which still hasn't been publicly released and Zardozjones' Genemu plus fMAME made an appearance so this years should be even better with (hopefully more ppl)more betas and tournaments

I think Lurch's use of canvas-based bribes is damaging democracy :D

We'll have to see whether we can get prizes again. It's totally up to the companies that are generous enough to donate things (gbax.com and Lik-sang last year). Hopefully, companies will be helpful this year too.

It was obvious that London would win, as the other towns are taking votes from each other.

As I said, it should have been:-

South of Birmingham,
The midlands,
or
The north.

or something similar.......

Thing is, I think we can safely say that most people willing to travel to one midlands town would travel to another, so it's not really that important. Getting people's ideas is the point - the poll data can be interpreted how you want.

Is London settled then cos this topic has been going on for a fair amount of time. But nice to let everyone have their say. :p
Also where in London I wonder?

It'll probably take a few more votes to settle it, I think. Bearing in mind the number of people on the board these days, I'm surprised it hasn't got to higher numbers faster, though...

Come on, other people who'd want to come along, vote!
Just thought of something, btw: London's got Eurostar going to it - anyone from France want to join us? :D

Don't just take into account which city has the most votes. If there is 2 cities about the same area with 6 votes each then one city in another area with 10 votes it should be in one of the two with the 6 or somewhere about that area.

To be honest, I still think that the Midlands is a better bet than London. Yes, it'll mean that people from the south need to travel further (including me!), but it'll also give those from up North a better chance of making it.

We'll see...

London was obviously gonna win the vote, but that doesnt mean that more people can make it if its in London.

It just means its easier for southerners and much harder for northeners etc...

Oh pah, stop whining you UK'ers. If we tried to have a U.S gathering i'd end up having to fly for 10 hours just to get there. Since chances are it would be on the East coast or West coast, and I live smack dab in the middle of the country. :p
