how can communism be an Idea that will never work when it is a reality and is working, china has about 1.2 billion people in it. what country you from?
It's impossible to say whether a system 'works' or not, without first stating what you think it should be hoping to achieve.
lib deb is ever i heard one

If the majority didn't vote, the crazies would start gaining power.

in the last us election the turn out was 60.7% and that was the highest since 1968
in fact the last 3 before the 2000 there were less than 50%

looks like the crazies have gained power then.

turnout of elections

I've totally lost track of this convo.

Communism is designed to fail. People are exploited terribly in China, Cuba isn't that much better off than 40 years ago (you can say that it's improved, but not hugely) and Russia...well.

The main problem is that Communists will argue about anything. My politics lecturer left the CGB because of this, and when they started arguing about what milk to buy it pushed her over the edge.

My main gripe with Communism is it creates a society where there is no chance to better yourself, or anything to aim for.

Communism is a bit extreme, socialism goes far enough for most people.

EDIT: Oh and the next time you see someone writing anarchy, ask them what it means.

Damn, I really hate it when punk's use the word Anarchy. It's punk politics.

"I hate the establishment, but I'm not quite sure why!"

does anyone else find that their ideals frequently clash with their day to day experiences?

in some regards i'm pretty hardcore conservative, but i go about life with an open mind and find myself feeling particularly liberal. issues like immigration and race rights play havoc with me every day i'll observe and experience things that back up some views and erode others.

yeah it's pretty hard to reconcile real life with ideals a lot of the time... it's almost the definition of 'ideal', really...
