Pandora - Obsolete?

Do I get a +1 ?
No. :p You get a correction: I'm using a Macintosh at this moment, I'm guessing you're unaware of them. It has plenty of buttons and a very full-featured activity monitor (or task manager, if you prefer), which is easily on-par with the KSysGuard in KDE3. There's no stylus because it has no touch-screen, though.

(Hint: They make more than just iPhones, you know. ;) )

Umm, I don't know how to comment to that. You made me sound like a moron, though I'm fully aware of all of Apple's products (inc i4G).
Yes they make iMacs, Mackbooks and now iPads.
I think you missed the whole point of my post. Apple = new direction/innovation.
iPhone took this approach and because of it its "Great Success" = ie Money, money, money
They always make themselves appear superior to all others and actively bash down competition.

By S'obs disapproving STYLUS, TASK MANAGER & BUTTONS for the interview/release of OSX 4.0 (iTouch>iPhone>iPad)
-> He promotes iPhone, 3G, 3GS, iPod Touch, iPod Touch (3GS), iPad, iPad 3G!
-> He guarantees no competition (Blackberry has buttons, HTC devices have stylus, new HTC have capacitative but still have task manager)

So by putting a iMac statement for an iPhone statement, you've shown your lack of knowledge & understanding.
But I won't make any cheap shots at you :p

Hey Socialist +1 for bullseye.
The world is imperfect.
Actually the only perfect place left is Antarctica!
all rules and consequences are governed by common sense - you cannot sue that glacier, crashing into it will make you stranded => death Xp

But in all seriousness, I think those cases are exaggerated over time and its frequency is low.
But it is true, US has highest numbers of lawyers-citizens (I think 1 lawyer:19 citizens !!!! in Washington)
I guess not every country in the world can be as great? sensible? reasonable? perfect? as Australia!

ppsst, but then again we are selfish people who want asia to provide our products with high quality for minimum pay

I'm sorry, but that was not my intent. My apologies that you perceived it that way.

Well, you did say "Apple". You didn't specify that you were talking about the iPhone.

I now know better than to joke around, I guess.

I got the playful nature of your comment, Prometheus! You have become a victim of text based misunderstanding (I'm going to coin 'TBM' right now). Maybe we should all resort to colour coding our text to correspond with the emotion behind it?

The acceptable temperature in the US is 96 C, by the way, and anything above that is considered unreasonable. Another 4 degrees and it would literally be boiling...
So You think that 96°C is "safe temperature"? You voluntary spit 90°C water on your hand? I guess not. I don't like to dispute if somebody can prove exactly degree of temperature of harming water (between 96°C - 99°C) - maybe yes. I just want to say, that from my point of view seems dumb, if somebody sue company that he (or she) harm himself with just bought hot drink. I know that nobody really mediately drink café 90°C hot, somebody carefully sip it hot, somebody let it cool down.

If I give you a coffee heated to some 200 C (technically not possible, you just keep adding more heat above 100 C until it all boils away, but bear with me), and your skin actually burns off on contact with the extremely hot cup, is it still your fault, or have I served you coffee that is unacceptably hot and should therefore be punished?
IF 200°C would be usual temperature of boiling water then I expect that You serve it in appropriate cup (or on tray) for safe handling. If cup was made from thin tin and without handle, then it is not appropriate even for 80°C drink.

I guess the lesson is if your coffee is fizzing, do not drink it or pour it down your underpants.

But what colour do we use if a post has made us nauseous? Ew. :p

The alternate lesson is that someone might have put chemicals or laxatives in it.

So we agree that there is a point where the server is doing something inappropriate, where the drink is considered too hot for the situation, all we need to do is establish where that "too hot" lies. But your "too hot" and my "too hot" are different things. One person might grab a ceramic mug and say "hmm, that's quite warm" while a second might touch it, recoil from the heat, and throw coffee all over themselves and possibly others. If you serve me coffee and tell me it isn't "too hot", and then I sip it and find out it is a couple degrees above what I would consider "too hot" then we have a problem. An impartial third party needs to come in and decide whether you underestimated the heat, or if I am just over sensitive to it and should have told you. This would need to be done every single time someone served someone else coffee that could be considered "too hot".
Or they can just make a precedence that makes the division sharp and easy to follow: above 96 is too hot, everything below gets thrown out of court.
Or do you like having court cases to decide whether 94 degree coffee was too hot? :p

Don't forget, that we also want the workers to be treated fairly and we don't want the asian teenagers exploited. So in toto, we want High Quality, Low Cost, No Exploitation.

Yes Australia is perfect with all it's video game censorship and TV censorship. Let's all move to Australia so we can play Grand Theft Auto 4 but not Left 4 Dead 2 because you kill humans in that game.

I think we all know that Canada is the perfect nation. Eh?
