Ciao !
I was checking Pygame.org and i found this python remake of Alien Breed http://pygame.org/pr...-1690-2937.html for WII.
The game is very scalable and after small mod to the sources i think is playable on Pandora.
What is changed from the original sources :
selected 800*480 res
disabled the mouse pointer (was visible all the time ).
On the 7z archive is present all the data needed to play .
I created a runme.sh to run the game with this lines:
Code:
  #!/bin/sh

  python gameengine.py -m

and a runme_2.sh wich contain:
Code:
#!/bin/sh

python ./gameengine.py -m

No PND for now is just a test !!! Let me know if works

Changed some text on credits menu. :)

08/12/2010 updated the archive with (i hope) better version

Notes
-----

This game was written primarily for the Wii but it was developed and tested
on a Linux PC. The game can be run using just Python/pygame/SDL so is portable
to any platform with those ports (inc. Windows).

Please read LICENSE and take note about the media files.

Installation
------------

Ensure you have Python 2.5+ installed
Ensure you have Pygame installed (on Ubuntu this is the python-pygame package)

Download FlashJesterPunk's PC AlienBreed Obliteration Zip from
http://homepage.ntlw...nbreed2k5x6.zip

and copy the alienbreed2k5x6.zip into the alienbreed/setup directory
cd setup
python extract.py

Then you can run the game as often n as you like from the alienbreed directory with

python gameengine.py -m

Keys
----

The defaults may not be to everyone's tastes but they are hardcoded. You can
edit the utils.py if you wish to change them.

class KeySet:

def __init__(self):
self.left = mygame.MY_K_LEFT
self.right = mygame.MY_K_RIGHT
self.up = mygame.MY_K_UP
self.down = mygame.MY_K_DOWN
self.fire = mygame.MY_K_FIRE
self.change_weapon = mygame.MY_K_CYCLE_WEAPON
self.escape = mygame.MY_K_QUIT
self.walls = mygame.MY_K_CHEAT
self.fps = mygame.MY_K_FPS
self.intex = mygame.MY_K_INTEX
self.run = mygame.MY_K_RUN

and how to make a PND of a python game in case it work nicely.

I have updated the zip archive with a newer version.
Please test on real Pandora as i don't have it .
If everything is ok i'll upload on archive .

Check the first message for download link.

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks a lot for report.
It's hard to port something without a real machine.
Tried on Win+Linux its working...(the same sources).

Do you have some error to report ?

Thanks

@ Farox: no error messages, just a black screen, and a Pandora I have to reboot...

I'll modify your startup scripts to have some output written to a file, and will report back :)

Bye, Magic Sam

Hey Farox, did you get any further with this as it sounds interesting?

I ran the updated version with both scripts and heres the output

Whilst it does blackscreen, the Pandora button will bring up a kill box (which fails to work) but you can also ALT+TAB to switch back to the terminal and a little python has appeared on the panel. It seemed to kill itself off whilst switching to other apps. So it doesnt require a soft reset.

Not sure if that error message is any use but I thought I´d post a result for you to check.

Happy New Year :)

Thank you Chaser :)
This is really usefull in special way the button to press to avoid the reset.

I will try to investigate that but don't know if i could solve that error before my Pandora arrive.

Anyway thank's a lot for that ...and Happy New Year.
