Life has been busy so I've not had time to get OutcaST 009 together just yet, but I wanted to let you guys futz with a hack version I've done here. Let me know if it 'just works', or if its screwy for some games and thus needs a menu option, or if it doesn't work for you at all :)

The goal .. fix for a few games that the mouse only seems to work in the left half of the screen; notably to me is Hard Drivin' II for instance .. you could only steer left.

This version is just a hack of 008 (and calls itself 008 still), but that should let you have a shot at playing Hard Drivin' (though it can be tough on a console when its a mouse based game!)..

Let me know if this version breaks mouse in the desktop or other mouse games, or if things seem odd somehow. I can make it an option, but if it just works.. I'll leave it.

Let me know :)

Great seeing you work some more on this :)

I've got just one question (maybe you forgot about this ;))

I asked a while ago for a joystick option to use A as fire button and X to press up.
This would help a lot in Jump'n'Run games :)

You told me it's easy to include - but that was like 4 releases ago ;)
Any chance for including this soon?

Sure; I'm slowly getting back on me feet for time :p

Got sick, which got me 2 weeks behind on support mail.. suddenly I've got hundreds of emails a day to reply to (for paying customers :)

I will test this out and let you know what I find.
Thanks for working on this emulator.
It is my favorite emulator for the GP2X.
I still love the ST after all these years, and your emulator is awesome.

Wait, did you mean "Y" to be up, and "A" to fire.. in adidtion to "X" as fire like it is now?

(in pure-joystick mode, not joy+mouse mixed mode.)

No, I meant A to be fire and X to be Up.
Not as a standard setting, but as an optional joystick setting.
It would make games like Turrican, Giana, etc. way easier, as it would mean that you can press X to jump and A to fire, just the same button configuration as most Joypads have :)

Up with stick to jump is terrible :)

Yeah at up to jump was terrible on the real Amiga/St too. I remember I modded a stick that had an extra button and mapped it to "up" for my old Amiga.
