As it seems, OS9xgp doesn`t emulate a plugged- in Snes-controller but instead another input device, probably a keyboard. That causes a malfunction with certain Roms, who require a controller, f.i. Kirby Superstar. Other emulators, f.i. Snes9xgp aparrently do emulate the controller accurately, but they are (usually) too slow. Does anyone know if there`s a way of using such Roms with OS9xgp ? Maybe switch to controller emulation somewhere in the GUI?
Pleez help if ya know! :(

The only input devices that Famicom/SNES ever had are: standard controller (and custom ones), mouse, superscope. Nothing else.
0S9XGP uses the standard controller. The problem is that you can't have every button in 0S9XGP because GP32 has only 6 buttons while SNES has 8 of them. So you should check you configuration.

Er... I have no problems PLAYING Kirby Superstar. I know (due to my ability to count) that the gp32 has not enough buttons, and i also know how to remap them. My problem is that the game doesn`t even start ! There`s just a message on the screen which i will quote now : " (Please Note)-- If you are using the Mouse, SuperScope or Multiplayer adapter , switch to Controller - Thanks !" unquote
Obviously OS9xgp emulates an other Controller than the standard one, and therefor, several games don`t run. But since other emus can do that, there *may* be a way to configure OS9xgp in a way to get it running, and it`s THAT i asked help for-- not how to switch between button settings.

btw: You `re right- there was no keyboard for the SNES.
can anyone help ?

MulitTab allowed the SNES to support up to 4 Players on one console. That ment, you could play ISSDeluxe with 3 buddys.

For some strange reason, the os9xGP emulates a supertab as well. That may be, because it was ported over from a PC version and the supertab was simply left in.

Hrrrm... Someone should ask YoYofr to disable this "feature" in the following releases... it`s pointless on the gp32_console and maybe even decreases the Performance.... Too bad. :(

What you could try is make a savestate just beyond the point where it says this, with Snes9x, and then rename it so it works with OpenSnes9x, then load it with OpenSnes...

No, that doesn´t work. The multitab emulation is still active when you load a SRAM state, and Kirby Superstar / Mario RPG don´t work with it. The programmers of those games haven´t just disabled the usage of this ROMs with the multitab to mock the gamers but because they (unlike most other games) don´t support multitab, and would not run with it (therefor they do crash if you try that trick) :(

1. Really ??? Do i have to rename the savestate ?
2. According to your post, OSNES9xgp worked without the multitab emulation, how
comes it, that in the current version 0.2 the multitab emulation is active?

If I were to take a guess, multitab emulation is there to facilitate the *possibility* of multi-player via RF link in the future, though I suspect that at the moment that would ne nothing more than a possiblity.

Otherwise, as you point out, there's no point in having it there...

You´re wrong, Tobriand. Even PC emulators (f.i. SNES9x) running on a fast PC (mine is Athlon XP 2600+) doesn´t run fullspeed in netplay, so it´s IMPOSSIBLE to implement a RF-play function on the gp32_console . :(
