Hello folks I am thinking about getting my gadget fix from GPH I used to get it from the Nokia n810(the internet tablets) but I have always wanted to get into game development and the WIZ is so very tempting to me mainly because the price is much lower(the new nokia n900 will be 500$+!!!!) but it still competes with the Nokia n900 in its processor do you guys have any suggestions as to where to get one(in North America) or anything i should know as a first timer?

My programming past has been HTML,CSS,JavaScript,PHP,Python,Java(tiny bit),BlitzMax,AutoIt... thats in no particular order and now i really want to switch to C++ and start doing game development because i never truly did... just always dreamed about it.

only place that has them in north america right now is

http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog/GP2X-orderby0-p-1-c-243.html

they ship from canada and it's not terribly long in wait. got mine in like 4-5 days I think.

if you need support from them don't use live support, they don't even act like they're part of consolesource.

@Spykez
Cool thanks for the info!

I have another question, does the WIZ have WiFi? I noticed the GP2X and the WIZ do not have WiFi listed in specs but I could have sworn i saw someone say the GP2X f-200 had it?

EDIT:Where can you get the WIZ SDK or is it not available yet?

wiz does not have wifi but someone is working on a project that proves its possible.

the SDK hasn't been released yet, instead from what I know people are using stuff they put together and libs from other places etc.

all the info in the threads there.

No Wifi I am afraid.

But GPH is going to release a WIFI adapter for it end this year.
Note: it's more a docking station with Wifi build in.

@RX Shorty
Yea from what i saw in the "renders" on that topic it looks a bit big for a WiFi adapter but then i guess we will have to wait and see eh?

Yup I asked about the Wifi adapter a month or so ago.
But they are still working on it, so the render is probably not the final product.
We are trying to influence them as much as possible to release just a Wifi adapter, a small one that is.
