My Simple (yet Effective) Joystick Improvement

Put a touch of hot glue on the knob hole where it goes onto the stick...hot glue doesn't stick to metal very well but should make it tight enough not to rotate yet weak enough to be popped back off. The uses for hot glue are endless...

I'm glad this seems to be helping some ;-) Here is a pic of mine:

But once the glue dries, how are you going to get the cap off (if you need to).

I just did the mod, exept I applyed the glue to the diagonals instead. It really does work quite well, and gives a bit more grip to the cap.

That's what I meant when I said hot glue doesn't stick to metal...you'd be able to pull it off easily ;-)

I did this with mine, only with a mix of gluestick and super glue since I didn't have any hot glue on me (I really should get some) and it's really a huge improvement (and fortunately, I didn't use enough superglue to make it a permenant mod).

I did this mod to my GP2x cap (the same as FastMHz has) but instead of using evil and probably not going off anymore glue, I used some kind of glow in the dark glue I found lying around somewhere. The neat thing about this is that it goes kind of rubbery after it's dried out, so you can still deform it a bit, it sticks to your skin pretty well (great grip), and it's easy to peel off afterwards yet it stays on the thing pretty well..

The mod itself is pretty great. I haven't experienced it improving me hitting certain directions, but the grip is greatly improved. I don't know yet wether diagonal or horizontal/vertical works best, either, but ofcourse you can still always just turn around the cap a bit..
