My FLU GP32 is suddenly dark... When I swith on the FLU, there's still a light that comes from the side, but it is a very weak light (almost can't see that it's on, and certainly not playing in the dark). Can anybody help...

Cheers

Have you tried replacing batteries?
The first thing to stop working when running on low batteries is the FLU.

Yup, dark flu's are normally the sign of current starvation, otherwise known as dead batteries.

I had this phenomenon too a few weeks ago. I had already sent a mail to Lik-Sang and they said I should send my GP32 to them so they could fix it. But it luckily fixed itself somehow. All I did was turn on the GP32 with the FLU on and leave it on for 15 Minutes. And slowly the frontlight became brighter and brighter until the original brightness was restored.

Try it out, I hope it works for you, too.

I did not have any problems since but I find this very strange. Does this make sense to anybody? Explanations?

seems like many people have this problem,
do you have a multimeter?
if yes can you pleas mesure the resistor and the power of the flu?

Cheers guys, it's not dark any longer :D
I left it on for 15-20' minutes (FLU on) and it came back to normal afterwards (Thanks Tob!!). No idea why this did happen though...

edit: i don't have any voltmeter so couldn't check...

yeah thats wat happens to me and what i do to fix it

I had a stereo that was in storage for ages. Played some Marilyn Manson through it on full volume and there was nothing coming out. Left the stereo on while I went and had something to eat. I came back and it was still quiet. As I crouched down to disconnect everything I noticed the speakers were whispering a small amount of the music. I left it running for a few hours and eventually it was back to normal. I put it down to being damp (and as the compnents dried out they got louder). Maybe this is what happened to your GP?

Interesting to see that other people have the same troubles as I had and that the solution is the same.

I figured it was perhaps a loose contact, but how come it can always be fixed that way? The damp thing is more probable, but I don't know how the damp could have come into my GP. I had used it (with the Frontlight on) just the day before. It was on my desk (which is usually a dry place) all night and the next morning I had this problem.

Mysterious, mysterious ...

yaeh i had the same self fixing problem, somone where the flu is currently dark should open it and mesure it to find the reason.

same problem, except for me i had already sent some mail yelling at lik-sang.
then it started to work

My GP32 has a different problem. I think I have the very first case of a virtual dead pixel on the screen. Sometimes when I turn it on there is a fairly bright stuck pixel on the screen. It acts like any typical stuck pixel but unlike the real dead pixel, this one goes away if I put slight pressure on the grey plastic screen border piece. Really weird, there must be a connection it there that is a bit dodgy.

Well I know this problem well. It's a bad FLU set. YES sometimes it will come back after 15 mins of being on. But eventualy it will burn out the resister and then your GP32 will get damaged . It's a bad batch of FLU's I was told. SO send your GP32 BACK to where you got them to be repaired before they never work again.
Just friendly advice.

Damn! I have the problem again, but my fronlight relly seems broken now. It's not even very dark, it's just off. When it's switched on, the colors on the screen lose intensity, just as if the batteries were empty. So I will better send it in this time.

Does anyone know a place where I can have it repaired that's in (or near to) Europe? Because sending it back to Lik-Sang will code me about 35€. This sucks!

But thanks for the hint, Emuman!
