Hey there! I thought, i would share some of my using experience with this handheld here on the forum. I'm using it almost every day, for years now. But i'm still struggling to understand, how it's working.
Although i'm pretty old now with my 34 years, i did'nt start playing with GP2X right at its release, just because i did'nt know anything about it back then. I have an F200 Device or, to be precise, actually five of them. Only one of them is working to 100%. I bought my first one 2016, as i discovered it together with Pandora. And i mostly used it to emulate stuff, especially games, that were not released outside of Japan. So i got roms and translations and that worked out fine for me. Later i discovered, that there are also free games, rom hacks and game engines. My english knowedge got a bit better (i hope, you can understand me) and i tried to do more stuff with my handheld and i read a lot about it in the internet. So i installed different kinds of software, like a terminal emulator and i found out, GP2X is not only a Game Handheld, it is a whole Computer and you can treat it as such.
I mean, you have to understand - i started my knowedge about computers with Pentium one, i think, and DOS. And then we got quickly upgraded with an 1.3GHz Intel Celeron and Windows XP, i was like 10 years old back in the day. And as a Windows user you don't have to deal with the Command Line Interface. You don't have to decide, from where to boot up your PC or which port is allowed to do what on it. You jsut do not know, the is a CLI on your PC, you don't need it at all! And then suddnly you discover Linux, Open Source Machines and all the stuff you can do with it. It just melted my brain back in the day.
Now i play usually rogulikes. Every single one of them i played for the first time either on Pandora (CDDA - my absolutely favorite - just play it!) or GP2X (Powder, Nethack, Angband). And i still play Angband on GP2X. I don't really like the Games like Nethack or Powder, because of its jokes? I don't feel, that i'm treatened seriosly in this games. Powder is pretty fun, you can do a lot in it and i like the different weapons and magic, but when you try to put a curesd necklace, that strangles you for the third time in ten minutes, you will just hate it! XD And Nethack has just a bunch of this bad jokes - like you getting in to the fire level and you meet there some hobbits with a ring. Or you meet seven Dwarfs with a coffin... I mean, it's funny for the first time, but i can't handle it.
Angband is completely different - it lets you play, like you were in a real dungeon. It's hard to describe, but it has everything, i can imagine for a dungeon crawler, even it is only in ASCII Mode.
I think, i will make only a part one of my opinion and write a bit more later, because i have a lot more to say and sadly not enough time for it
