thanks for the suggestions guys.

also, what about megadrive for DrMD?

i have about 40 games for DrMD, but its left me feeling a bit bland, ive probably picked the usual games that anyone would suggest, but im probably missing some hidden gems out there

Ninja Turtles and Zedblade are my fave Mame games right now.

As for the megadrive:

Gauntlet 4 and Xenon 2 have seen a lot of play time on my system.

Megadrive games..

Try the following:

-Devil crash (pinball)
-Fantastic dizzy (sega versojn of the speccy classic)
-Herzog Zwei (excellent strategy game, if you have the patience to learn it)
-Krustys Super Fun House (best of the simpsons games)
-Rolling Thunder 2 (best platform shooter)
-Zero Wing (awesome space shooter)
-Wonderboy (but it doesn't work yet)

enjoy

Megadrive games;
international sensible soccer
evander holyfields 'real deal' boxing
cannon fodder
worms
jungle strike
populous
micro machine
lemmings
flashback
B)

Some hidden gems for Megadrive/Genesis:

- Elemental Master (Medieval-vertical Shooth'em-Up)
- Battle Squadron (Shooth'em-Up, Very very Hard)
- Battle Mania 2 TS Vintage (J) (Crazy japanese Shooth'em-Up like forgotten World)
- Grind Stormer (an OK Shooth'em-Up)
- Gaiares (Very good Shooth'em-Up like R-Type)
- Gley Lancer (Very good Shooth'em-Up like Thunder Force 4)
- Sagaia (Very good Shooth'em-Up like Darius saga)
- Second Samurai, The (An OK scroller-action game with gorgeous graphics)
- Sol-Deace (Good Shooth'em-Up)

PD: Yes, i love shoothers :)

It says King of fighters '94-'97 is supported, how well do they run? Because if they run well then that should go on everyones list.

wow thanks Hokutoy, i love shooters, mainly cause you can get into the action quickly

If you love Shoters don´t forget to check:

- Thunder Force 4(The best shoter for 16bits IMO)
- Zero Wing (all your base are belong to us... :D )
- Gynoug
- Aeroblaster
- Vapor Trail
- Musha
- Bio-Hazard Battle
- Raiden
- Twin Cobra

...

never mind that it was made on a GP32/2X forum in the GP2X section amid the announcement of the latest GP2X version of Mame.

Try these. Most are full speed or close :

Carrier Air Wing
Cyberlip
Fatal Fury 2
Karnov's Revenge
Magician Lord
Mercs
Neo Turf Masters
Ninja Gaiden
TMNT
KOF 94 (disable sound)
Metal Slug (disable sound)
Varth
Viewpoint
Willow
World Heroes 2
Zed Blade
King of the Monsters 2
Double Dragon

Great MAME games:

Tempest
Time Pilot
Time Pilot 84
Joust
Black Widow (needs some tweaking ot the firing buttons)
Robotron (same ^^)
Star Wars

... too many to remember, frankly ...

also, what about megadrive for DrMD?

Haven't tested these on the GP2X yet. But assuming they WILL one day work...

Phantasy Star 2 & 4 - great RPGs, some would say the best games ever released for the Megadrive. HARD. Skip PS3, it's ok but no classic.

Shining Force 1 & 2 - some of the original tactical RPGs.

Ranger X - A fun robot platform/shooter.

Alien Soldier - Like Gunstar Heroes with more focus on bosses. "VISUALSHOCK! SPEEDSHOCK! SOUNDSHOCK! NOW IS THE TIME TO THE 68000 HEART ON FIRE!"
