Mp4 Files

It's not exactly MP4 what is written on the specifications, but MPEG4.

It can play any MPEG4 file with .avi headers. But MP4 is another container format different from .avi, so the integrated video player can't play it.

Anyway, you can play mp4 files using ffplay (although I've tested one mp4 video, and ffplay wasn't able to play the sound).

Now, if anyone could compile a better, optimized version of ffplay for the GP2X...

It's seems that Open2X its mediaplayer will support wmv, wma, and more codecs in a not far away Future :D

but at the moment *.wmv is running not so good  ,
a few months ago i tested a bunch of Anime Music Videos, some worked oke (Low res at good speed, Hi res at slow speed) and some didnt run.

here some info about Open2x Mplayer (read the Todo list)
