So now the case is go the thing that determines when the first batch will be shipped. How is the progress of the first batch, is it still done in sub batches of about 400? and what timeline are we looking at?

Sorry, but... How does this belong in the dev corner? You've been here longer than that. You should know better :(

EDIT: Great, moved :)

All through November Craigix said that the boards were to be finished by the end of November, and never mentioned anything about delays on that front.

Why don't you need the cases for 12 days?

We might need them before if the boards are finished on time.

Good thing it's looking like we will get them (the first 1000) late next week. Fingers crossed.

Well, they'll probably be ready as they are making them so this shouldn't slow things down too much.

Depends on how you define finished. Finished yes, populated maybe not.
Edit: This was supposed to be two posts higher.

You realise that he said that last week so that means they could be ready this week, in a few days as today is Wednesday.

Anyone know why they didn't finished the boards while waiting through the several months of delays on the case?

It had something to do with them not wanting the boards to sit around collecting dust for weeks before the cases were finished I think.

Because its not done that way. There has to be a certain flow in production. You don't produce a shitload of Boards and park them in the basement for future use.

Not trying to be inflammatory here - but why not? Don't they have all the parts to populate the boards and such just sitting around waiting?

They had to build and test the 105 first... which they did. So what's the problem?

Well, one would have to be more familiar with that stuff. There are several factors, I suppose. Booking factories, production time, storage, transport, management, etc. Each component needs an amount of money and the logistic should be optimized in a way to lead to an acceptable result at an optimum pricepoint.
