Misfit Mame

It's a version of Mame that runs these crazy hacked arcade roms.

It is actually very cool, I would love to see that on Pandora!

I've loved the various versions of Crazy Kong I've come across. I distinctly remember the machines being labeled "Kongerilla" or something of that sort, not Crazy Kong.

I'd be interested in something of this nature.

Bring it on!

Crazy Kong is supported within regular MAME. I'll just quote the reason for this from here;

Crazy Kong - Part II is not a bootleg of "Donkey Kong"!! Falcon DID have a license from Nintendo, but it was NOT for the US. Crazy Kong - Part II was supposed to be for sale outside the US (South America, Europe, etc.), but the lag in production of arcade DK's by Nintendo for a 3 month period during 1981-82 made demand for any DK type game go through the roof. At this time, Nintendo of America was moving from NY-NJ to Redmond WA and there was a 4 month backlog on orders. This opened the door for the illegal Crazy Kongs to fill the demand. Approximately 20,000 Crazy Kong were distributed illegally in the U.S.

You don't need Misfit MAME for this one.

EDIT: Shortened quote to the relevant paragraph only.

Oh I know this. However, on the Dingoo, there are 4 different ROMsets for various versions of Crazy Kong. If I were a betting man, I would think some of these might make it over to Misfit MAME. I have a fairly standard version of Crazy Kong for MAME106. Orca software is my personal favorite.

donkey kong 2 is not crazy kong. donkey kong 2 is an actual sequel to the original donkey kong. it was homemade but is arcade quality. im not sure if it was in arcades. there are screenshots of it.

I only know of one arcade in the US that has it, and it is actually sold as an upgrade kit to a regular upright Donkey Kong machine.

So it's like tempest tubes, once it is installed, you can then switch between the original and Dk2. I never knew the rom was released, as it is being sold currently!

I understand that Crazy Kong is not Donkey Kong II.

I would like to see Donkey Kong II and any alternate versions of Crazy Kong that might exist for MisfitMAME.

Anyone gonna port this?

i actually played a coin-op Donkey Kong 2 last weekend at the NW Pinball fest. it's not very polished IMO - on the first level (aside from being crazy difficult) there was a bonus item located in a completely inaccessible corner of the screen...
