With Basilisk II for lots of platforms available as source code, how hard would it be to have a Mac emulation on GP32? is it possible to have an X windows server on GP32? Am I expecting tooooo much?

Hmmm - Ram? SMC space? not sure how much of each you'd need, but if you have both, then its just a matter of speed, which I think wouldn't be too hot!

Anyone know any more?

The original MacOS is screen size independant, it's just a variable set at startup time. Memory can be as low as 512k but 1-4 megs is better. The whole interface can be run with a mouse. It can boot a complete GUI from 800k images and have space for games etc. I trimmed a useable(?), bootable system folder down to 180k once. I have almost every developer CD since 1991, what would you like to know? I have used several Mac Emulators they all work well, it's just them © ROMs that are a hassel. But I have a load or the hardware ones.

What about an Apple ][ emulator?

Speed? the original Mac was 8MHz, the first colour Mac was 16MHz, An emulation of a Mac Plus would run faster than the original.

Why not windows for gp32, like win3.1, or a cut down ver of 95/98...either that, or redhat linux (with the user interface)

Linux is not far away .................... apparently ;)

MrT

for windows (if you want a full os, with exe support and those) you need the sources, which arent available, only a windows like gui would be possible. (wingp)
but isnt firefly trying to make software for gp32 using the WinCE SDK? If yes, and he get this working, there would be some great ports of ce software i think :)
