Now nobody can complain!
Except all the poor dev's that are now going to get hassled, to include the network code back into the games.
Shouldn't be too hard, as most of the ports had it included from the start anyway :D

Would it be a good idea for someone to write a shared network code now, to be included in the firmware?
All of the programs can use the same code, instead of each program handling it differently.
Something along the lines of Kaillera would be fantastic :).

Cool stuff. So now I got the drivers, but where do I get a compatible wifi stick please? :)

"SunSpire"

Hmm atheros chipset is the one I got :( damn. Apparently even the linux drivers don't support USB atheros yet lol. So hmm as Sunspire says what models (that are 108mbps compatible if any) have a prism chip?

I'd be more happier if there were some Atheros based drivers too ;)

wow! is it just me or this is frickin awesome news and nobody is reacting?! =)
Some people have been using wlan on the gp2x for months now. This is just a set of drivers for more chipsets so more usb wlan sticks are now supported.

hmm...now there's going to be people asking for a simple EXT -> USB Host, so they can just drop this thing in.

There's a pretty comprehensive list on the Linux-wlan-ng site, it lists not only the sticks containing prism2/2.5/3 chipsets, also other known stick chipsets. Anything with a prism2/2.5/3 chipset will work with this driver btw. Also, it's not possible to power the stick from your GP2X directly! (It is possible to power it with the radio off, but then it's not much use...) Even when running off the adapter, your GP2X will give you a low battery warning, and it might even fry something if left on for too long.

Any idea what chip a Netgear WG111T uses?
take a look here:

If you have found your chipset, look here for linux drivers:

I wonder, are there gp2x drivers for ralink chipsets?

Well, I did compile the rt2570 drivers tonight together with iwconfig :) It looks like it works as far as loading and creating a rausb0 interface which I can ping if I set an IP for it - but - I still can't seem to connect to anything. Well, It might be me - or it might be the driver - I'll see if I can get it to work tomorrow :)
