Why? The 2600 Duracell/Energizer are fine, measure them with a multi-meter, use paint to mark the closest pairs when you open the package, and charge them on a long-term or computerized timer (the 8-hour charger that energizers come with does a great job for me). If you aren't doing that then I doubt higher capacity batteries will help you.
If you just need longer run-times, add a third cell on the back (I have instructions and pictures, google nubie07 AA and there should be some pictures on my picasaweb account.) I clocked at 6 hours 17 min on the battery test app with just 3 2500/2600 Energizers (can't be bothered to check, but they are the standard Wal-Mart/Target/Sam's club fare).
Just FYI, if you expect better battery performance there is more to it than just buying more expensive batteries. Closely matching the batteries will yield longer run-times and longer lasting batteries (AKA longer useful life-span)
To answer your question, expense isn't really an issue as it usually amounts to a couple of bucks difference with rechargeables. Energizers crapped out on me, their charger killed another pair of batteries as well. That's four batteries that don't work in high yield devices, and I just figured 2800, why not. But Duracell seems sound. I can get those easily.

I bought the 2700 mah SOny batteries too a few days ago. I charged them 3 times in a row to allow max charge and i ran the battery test at 200 mhz on mi 2.1.1. firmware gp2x mk2...it ran for 4:35 hrs.
