I booted up my GP2X for the first time in about 2 years, having not REALLY used it heavily for about 3 or more(?) It's at firmware 2.00. The SNES emu I have runs alright (laggy with sound turned on... sound doesn't seem to even work anyway), NES emu works, genesis emu works great. Also have a neogeo emulator that runs the metalslug games decently, without sound. Also have MAME.

My question is this...

Have these emulators been improved? Do they run better now? Have any new consoles been emulated successfully?

Is there new firmware that's stable?

Any good homebrew titles that are necessary downloads?

HELP ME OUT!

thanks in advance!!!!!

My favorites would be:
opentyrian (great shump: vertical space shoot-em-up)
phoneMe playing j2me phone games like: spore, simcity, lego batman, pacman pinball, amazing disneyland kart, tiki towers, assasins creed.
neogeo/capex/finalburn emulators because the graphics are amazing
drill2x (almost perfect mr. driller clone)
egoboo (only 3d opengl GP2x game)
supertux (great port of mario like platformer with tux)

Also, there is the new open2x firmware, almost perfect, and allows some of the newer Wiz games to be played on the GP2x.

Open2X is good, Emulators all work well for me with sound (snes).
PSX emu may have been around 3 years ago, maybe not?

Been quite a few years on my end as well. Out of boredom I decided to buy another F100 on ebay after selling my unit(s) a year or two ago. Good to see things are still alive on the GP2X front ;)
