Is There A Sudoku Game??

This is an Android game? Was just wondering...because I was about to try Notaz's Android PND. Guess I might as well bite the proverbial bullet. HEY! I said bullet and not GTA........oh hey, GTA is available on Android...

...Just kidding! :D To whomever might be listening.
^As a warning, GTA III will download and play fine(Well 1Ghz unit), GTA III: Vice City will download, but just hangs on the menu on start up.
I guess I'm a terrible person for playing GTA games..

Yeah on Android.

And I hear great things about the Android PND from Notaz, I say bite that bullet and then get this game if you like addictive little puzzlers.

Graphically it's not as nice as the website one I linked but still an addictive little puzzler that will keep me entertained for some time, looks to have plenty levels. Free too.

I'm hoping that off the back of the recent survey blah blah ... I can get my original order upped to the 1Ghz one for a fair price, that's the option I chose, pretty much for the fact that I really would want to run some Android stuff on it using the Android PND.

Also, I'd imagine those with the 1Ghz can find plenty of Sudoku games on Android Play Store to d/l too, to accompany the PND versions out there/coming soon.

I've been using  "fltk Sudoku", which is not in the repo (only in the old Archive): http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/pandora.cgi?0,0,0,0,25,272

Don't mind the "screenshot", it doesn't look anything like it. I like the fact that it runs in a window on the desktop, so you can play some Sudoku while something is downloading or whatever.

@ekianjo: will try your port when I get home, it looks quite nice!

Yeah, it's pretty good!

I did not find it in the repo...maybe I did not know what category to look under.

I did a search for java, but got a lot of results that were not the java pnd

So I guess what I ended up with is the older version, from the JavaPND thread.

No matter, that one works for this.

So I got it.

Now, for a quick review..

I like the way you can change the size of the screen, and I like that you can choose numbers or letters, makes things kinda fun...and of course that you can choose difficulty level.

I also like the way you can move the entry grid around with the D-Pad, so you do not have to use the stylus...and you type the numbers in whiuch is good, I don't like ones where you have to draw the number and it sometimes doesn't interpret the number right...

Overall, very good, I'll be rating four stars at the moment.

To get a five-star rating, two things need to happen...

1. Ability to have full screen, but be able to actually see the who puzzle when you do this.  currently, "Big" size does not take up the full screen, but it is the biggest in which you can see the whole puzzle at once on your screen.  the "Huge" size makes it so that you cannot see the full puzzle at once.

2. Ability (which may exist, and I just couldn't figure out how) to put small numbers in the corners...so that you could put possible numbers in there.

But this is a very nice little program, and I am very happy you made it!  I like it!

Has anyone yet tried the Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection? It has Sudoku, but plenty of other puzzle games, as well (36 in total). Here's a link:
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/puzzles/

It has the tar ball, in addition to Java and JavaScript versions (and .exe files, if want to try them on Windows). And apparently there are already ports available for various other platforms.

Oh, and I would also second the motion for a Go application.

It's already been mentioned in this thread a few times actually.
It's available in a PND here:

Must check this out

Humm, nice...interesting...but you can't see the whole screen on the sudoku game on the sgt puzzles game.  And I see no way to size the screen so that I can..or even to scroll it so can see it...the bottom line of the puzzle is almost completely cut off.

I like the other Sudoku better...unless this problem could be fixed.

Some interesting puzzles in there, though...the Map one was driving me nuts for a while.
