I recently came across I game I need for GP32. Its called Cho Ren Sha. Its free and for PC and the X680000. I havent been here for awhile so am I allowed to post the link to the download page?

There is no X68000 emu for GP32 yet. No idea if anyone is working on one, or anyone is even interested.

But there's some really great stuff for the X68000. That shooter you linked looks sweet, and there's also a really good Castlevania for it as well. And by good I mean SNES+ quality graphics.

From a spec list I found:

The first model of X68000. SHARP co.(JAPAN) in 1987.
'Manhattan shape' style. MC68000(10MHz), 1MBytesRAM, 1MBytesGRAM(Text+Graphic)+Sprites+BG. MAX 768x512pixels x 16colors or 512x512pixels x 65536colors. Extention 2 slots, FM+ADPCM(in and out), SASI interface, 3-D scope interface, TV control, Mouse+Trackball, Joystick port x2, Full-auto 5' FD x2 (no Hard disk)

Later models had more RAM, higher clock speeds, new designs etc.

Looks like a cool system. Unfortunatly the GP32 doesn't have the resolution though. The GP32 is only 320 x 240 so it would be kind of hard to get 512 x 512 or 768 x 512 out of it.

It runs in lores for the games, and 10mhz is easily possible with cyclone, but I suspect the x68k has some amiga style video hardware under its hood which would make things messy.

If someone was going to take on such a project they would be more likely to just do the amiga instead, much bigger audience.

The x68k is a bit like the PCE of computers.

Thanks for posting that complete spec list. I didn't have time to search much when I posted my quickie specs earlier.

Basically the GP32 can handle this system to some degree, probably pretty well judging by DrMD. Like Craig said, the games mostly run in lower res modes (i.e. 256x240) and 10Mhz is NOT that much for Cyclone - the Genesis is 8Mhz.

I don't know much about the X68000, aside from trying an emu a few years ago. I played Castlevania for it and was very impressed. And I recall that it had quite a few good arcade games for it. The emu wasn't too great on my PC, but that was a while back and I haven't really looked into X68000 again.

Good site about the X68000.
