My classic dream car would have to be a Buick Grand National (Preferably the GNX)

My modern dream car would be more of a tribute to my classic dream car. I have always wanted to take a Buick Regal (98-03) and install a turbo with a lot of supporting mods (Cams, valves, Timing set etc.) creating a fantastic sleeper and aptly naming it the wannabe :D

Here is the Grand National.

What would you guys choose?

drem? lol
Darn it... After I sat here looking over my spelling I completely missed the title. This keyboard is a little unresponsive unless you type hard. It's just an old Toshiba running Ubuntu after all

Nice choices BTW. Both are very sharp!

How is a Buick a dream car? Isn't that a reality car people settle on?

It is. But I have loved Buicks since I was small. Having a GNX has always been a dream and the modified regal (wannabe) is just because I wanted a project. I wanted an unassuming vehicle that could hold its own with the best of them while I ride in comfort

Uhhhh.... Ok, I have to search for a me in the multi verse that ever dremed of cars...

Hmm. Classic? Have no idea what they are actually called, I suppose those original split window volkswagen combi hippy vehicles.

Modern... gosh, what gets the job done and is economical. Would be nice to live in comfortably while on the road while having plenty of space for stock and my stand setup. Cars are expensive in this country, so I am making do with a Subaru station wagon. (Edit: fitted with a tow hitch and roof racks to compensate... not ideal, but I can still sleep in the car pretty comfortably with the back seat down). Was very happy to get a Subaru for the price I did. Second hand of course. Buy new? Are you out of your tree? What an absolute pointless waste of money buying cars New.

I put 25,000 miles /40233.6 km a year on a vehicle, in my experience used cars become maintenance nightmares for me quick.  so I've accepted buying new, trading in before they start breaking down and the value of the car totally diminishes... I love Subaru cars for my long drive in winter weather, rough roads and such.

Dream car, well someone here keeps showing off with their fancy Unimog. But not really a car fanatic.

Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole, White, with the rear wing.

(Example)

and off the top of my head, a Ferrari 288 GTO.

(Example)

It's a list I could extend into triple digits though.

Well, I've never had the option to buy new due to financial constraints... it's a case of; if you have very little money, you spend it all to get the best you can afford, then use what you've bought to make the money simply to maintain it because it's breaking down all the time, but you can't just save for a better vehicle, ensuring you have the means to earn money takes top priority.

The poor find it very very hard to change their situation.

The rich are given all sorts of perks that keep them rich or make them even richer... the more you spend, the more you get for less.

I would love to fire a torpedo into the pyramid and completely destroy the class divisions... create a world of equality and shared resources with genuine care and consideration given to the well fare of all instead of just those who can afford it.

I would propose a cashless society, with a barter system and community service or contributions granting you your basic needs such as shelter and healthy nourishing humane food, and means (education, equipment) by which to developed skills and further one self.

Rich people will then be those who are passionate about service and the upliftment of others... poor people, with only what they need to survive, will be those who only care about themselves.

Sorry for the off topic.

Another modern car (2015/2016) that I would chop my dick off to own is an Aston Martin DB11.

I've always valued affordability, economy, and functionality, and have pretty much zero interest in vehicles other than their ability to get the job done and not waste money.

Mod Edit: Let's keep it clean OK?

User Edit: Sorry, it was a jibe.

I'm actually celibate. Not joking.

"I always imagined people spend such exorbitant amounts on these status symbols because of being a very effective penis enlargement technique with no surgery required."

Some might be after just that, but not everyone...

Some people appreciate the art of nature, some appreciate the art of cooking, some appreciate the art of engineering, art is in everything we do and everything around us, its just different strokes for different people and if you dont understand why people salivate over some cars then just think of how some people dont care about food at all or have no interest for a grand scenery or whatever, we all have our different joys in life.

Classic -> VW Beetle (Original german build <1970)

New... Hmm Porsche 911 GT2

Both maybe no dream cars for most of the people, but I just love the Beetle, an if I really want a fast car, I also want it to be at least a bit reliable.

That rules most sport cars out, especially the ones build by FIAT :D

Two cars I'd give a kidney to have :

- Porsche 911 (964) 3.6 Turbo 1993. Last propulsion Turbo. 360 hp. With the genuine Porsche luxury and classic looks.

- Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34) 1999. Bayside Blue or nothing. 276 hp official. 311 hp unofficial. Four-wheel drive and steering. Nuff said.

Other cars I'd like to own :

- Honda/Acura NSX first gen. Black. A real sporty yet everyday car. Suspension by Ayrton Senna, NA V6, "Japanese Ferrari" looks.

- Venturi 300 Atlantique Bi-Turbo. Bleu Orage. Like a Lotus Esprit, only sleeker. A true gentleman's car.

- DeLorean DMC-12. Already said. Without the nuclear plant, please.

- Ferrari F40. This is the reason why.
