Well baically i think that zodiac looks damn good....But i'm staying with game park. Gp is more of a computer not a pda and that's why i like it. Zodiac just looks to me like a nice pda...Maybe in the future if there are good emulators etc for zodiac i may buy one but so far gp32 is still with me!

I'm thinking one of these days to invest in a Zodiac, but not for a long time coming. Or maybe I'll just wait until the next great alternative handheld comes along considering the Zodiac really isn't that great of a step ahead of the GP32. Really, if you at it, the Zodiac is only a little bit beefier. Like having a Whopper over a regular hamburger. It may taste a little different and may be a little bigger, but there is no real difference between the two.

I like the GP, but I am personally more interested in videos and MP3's. I am still deciding whether to buy a PVP (personal video player), stick with the GP, or a little of both.

Ya that's true probably in like a year there'll be some great amazing new handheld...I still remember my days spent a few years ago on CYBIKO!!! it was the coolest handheld but now it's basically dead.=(

Really you shouldn't compare them to shitty burgers that will make any normal human being puke :p . The Zodiac is a lot beefier, its supposed to compare to like 400mhz tungsten or something similiar. It also has a video and audio chip which I dont think the GP32 has, I know it doesn't have a video chip. But the reall issue now is the people can't use GDL and the Tapwave SDK together to make emlators cause it calls for the Zodiac API, which is illegal to release the source to which the GDL does. But they are working around that. Once the real launch of the Zodiac (commercial) many good SNES, Mega Drive and GBA emus will be out. Not to sure on genesis (i know its mega drive) cause Sega is selling ports on the Zodiac. ON the other hand it also has Bluetooth, so MULTIPLAYER MAYHAM and Wi-Fi upgradeable.

Zodiac: woman genitalia
Gp32: boobs + ass
GBA: legs
N-gage: male genitalia

the truth is out there: N-Gage explosive launch

HAHAHAHA, that is great. But, really if you put the GP32 and the Zodiac together, you get one hell of a final product. I guess you were just trying to list it in order of most physically appealing human anatomy.

Basically, the N-Gage sucks itself.

yeah, if the zodiac had an internal hard drive with like 20gb of memory, and it was open source, it would be SSOOOO cool. :D

Well the Zodiac does indeed look fab, but it is just the equivalent of a GP64 isnt it? Ill stick with the GP32 for a while yet as its 8bit emulation is excellent and when reasonable SNES and Gens are available it will have fulfilled its potential - and this is just a matter of time.

At the end of the day the Zodiac is for now v expensive - and whos to say Tapwave will be any more a reliable firm than Game Park? Theyre not a recognisable brand firm you can trust are they? <_<

Id say dont rush to get one (especially the fact its still not open source) wait for the PSP to be released and see how this thing fares against THAT.

In the meantime, stick with the GP32! :D

Tapwave not reliable?? They are the Palm computing company for goddness sakes!!! They are a huge, widely used and widely known corporation!!! If you went to 100 people in the US and asked them if they knew GamePark, probably less than 1 would know what it is, but ask about Palm, and I would guess that more than 50% know at least what they do.

I've had palm pilots since they were made by US robotics, so I'm extremely tempted by the zodiac. But then in the next year or so, we'll be seeing the PSP, the GBA2, and who knows what other new handhelds. The GP32 is fantastic, but technology is moving fast. When (if) the zodiac gets emulatos as good as the GP32 ones, I'll probably get myself one, but we just need to wait and see how the new machines develop. The zodiac is a pretty impressive PDA for the money, but yeah - it's a different market really (but one I happen to be interested in!)

Are they? From looking at their site, I think Tapwave are their own company, and not a Palm subsidiary. I'm ready to be corrected if you know more on their background though! Their use of Palm OS doesn't mean they're Palm though; it just means they've licensed the use of the operating system.

I mean I don't know a lot about Palm, but since the Zodiac has Palm operating system then Palm would have to have the support, right? Palm won't just give their program away to anyone.

I think Palm are more keen to sell their OS than to give it away! I'm not sure what the arrangement between palmsource and their licensees is though. But yeah: using PalmOS does allow Tapwave to trade off Palm's name, which I'm sure has a lot of benefits.

I agree with that, i think that they are just using the Palm OS and nothing more.

I wouldnt mind one but then id just be scared it would be a bit like my gamepark. I bought my gp not 2 long ago when it was "the most powerful handheld in the world". Its already been superseded by the zodiac. If i buy a zodiac how long would i have to wait till thats old news? I think ill wait till the gameparks on its last legs and see whats available then. With things like thunderz 3d engine bein released i think new lifes just been breathed into it :).
