here is the howto

mystory:
after a bad flas from 211 to 300 my u boot and file system were gone
even the nand was unformatted only the green light would come on and the screen was black.
i orderd a bob from here http://www.gp2xstore.com/ and i used the cheapest shipping $5
it got to me in 2 days from the day i ordered it!!! great company!!! thanks!!!
first i recharged my batteries (i know you should use ups but hey it was bricked i figured what the hell)
second i plugged the bob in to the computer via a $9 db25 passthrough cable (got from staples)
then i copied the 200 files to the root of a sd card put it in the gp2x
powerd up the gp2x and placed it on the bob
then i executed instdrv.exe then gp2xrecovery.exe
after about 1 minute the software reported complete and the system went from having just a blank unlit black screen to having a lit screen with a bunch of colored lines.
finally i removed the gp2x from the bob and powerd it down.
*** IMPORANT ____>>>>>> wait for a few minutes to turn it back on while holding the start and select buttons... and viola you should see the update screen - let it run through (it took mine about 10 minutes)
and you should see the screen boot up to the default gp2x gui and now it is not a brick - sweet!!!!
ONE LAST THING - remove the files from the memcard or it wil try to reflash when you reboot
now when you reboot the gp2x you should see the splash screen (uboot) and hear the chime
followed by the start screen - im back in business.
hope this helps
