Hy, wrote a little more accurate clockspeed tester, it makes a big stress test, on lcd, dma, sound,...

You can select clockspeed, start music with START, and reset with R.

Please post how fast you can get... Can someone test a new BLU ???

tried on 180 for around a minute, got 68 (sometimes went down to 67) without sound, 65 (sometimes to 64) with sound. its a non flu gp32 that hasnt been modified.

Is it possible to increase the clockspeed any more?

I believe he's using values from my old overclocking tester (which may or may not give accurate results when it comes to what speed you can overclock on emulators). My old tester goes to 200MHz, but I'm sure mirko will make a new version of mirko's tester (which has it's own stress test) with more values soon.

180 too here. Yeah, more would be nice. I would like to verify the benefit of higher frequencies I already saw with another stability test.
[edit:]Oops I didn't see the line about BLU.

non-modded non-flu
i have no problems with overclocking in Doom, OS9XGP, GPCinema (didnt test other ^^)
my results:

133 - 44-46FPS
160 - 57-59FPS
164 - 56-62FPS
166 - 58-62FPS
168 - 59-63FPS
172 - 62-65FPS
176 - 62-66FPS
180 - 64-68FPS
184 - 67-69FPS
188 - 40-71FPS (! big bad lag with sound)
192 - 65-72FPS
196 - 67-74FPS
200 - 61-75FPS (had it running for some minutes)

mirko, would you be so nice and update the stress-tester, so it isnt stressing on the same level everywhere?
i mean, like "having a little sprite moving" "3d-rotation" "heavy dividing", an app doesnt do the same everytime, so this would be a bit more accurate i think

Edit: the results are lowest iw/ sound and highest w/o sound

With the old tester I got a rating of 64 at 180Mhz for about 20 minutes with sound. Ill update this post once I try the new tester at 200Mhz.

EDIT: With new tester at 200Mhz I got 71 with sound on for about 1 minute and Its still going. It'll be great if now emus give options to overclock up to 200 Mhz It seems like there would be some performance benefits even if battery life is shortened.

I add some more memory copy in next version..., the complete tuve is realtime calcualted, so i think its a lot math now...

After reading the post that said there was sound lag at 188Mhz I tried it and I get the same experience with only 41fps. I didnt have this problem at 200Mhz.

EDIT: Someone should ask Yoyo to include the extra overclocking options in the next snes emu version .5

Edit2: Vimacs: I think you mean to say ">166Mhz" for greater than 166.

Sure, let's all be able to play SNES games for 30 minutes with fresh batteries :p
Is it weird that when I O/C to 166 with OSnes9x I can still get like 4 hours of battery life? Everyone else seems to say they get like 2.5, also Ive had my GP32 running off fresh batteries at 200Mhz on the tester for at least an hour now so the batteries would still last reasonably long.

C'mon, those emus with the oc option would be nice, maybe not on the road, but if you have a power adapter or several rechargeable batteries it would really be great.

Mine (FLU) goes to 200mhz without problems, sound @71fps; it's been going for like 10min and I'm going nuts for having the tune in my ears all the time with my headphones.
