read the ign articles too, wasn't overly impressed with the prospects (plus i was out of work for much of the time that year when i found out about it, so game-shopping was a no-no)
got a job, got a flashcard for my GBA and been heavily enjoying pocketNes ever since. Hanging out on the gbaemu.com board since I got my GBA cart, and they have a sister GP32emu.com site. I'd dip in from tiem to time to see how things were going but the slow SNES emu and limited other emu's were less than encouraging. Then one day they announced "perfect PCE emulator" and I knew it was only a matter of time till I'd have one! (and, checking the UPS tracking schedule, it looks like I will have it in my hands tomorrow evening!)
Though from what everyone says, I'll still be using my GBA quite a bit for all my 8Bit NES needs (and of course Advance Wars and etc) but that's fine, they can co-exist. Get that megadrive emulator released, however, and my GBA's headed for the back of the closet..
