during these 2 last years, technology has improved and some costs decrease.

what habout adding a 6000 mah battery to the pandora for a better autonomy
here is one: http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370335768303

it costs $39 with the charger.

isn't better rather than the 4000 mah of the actual pandora's battery?

Meh, I have an 18000mah battery for my beagleboard :p

Would you really trust a too-good-to-be-true price on eBay, and then assume that it means technology costs have decreased in spite of the global financial crisis?

The Pandora could have had a 6000 mah battery as well if it were 50% larger. You can't just cram any battery in, it needs to actually fit, and given that the Pandora's battery is a caseless lipo, it's energy density is just about as high as it can get. That 6000mah battery is almost certainly going to be more than 50% the size of the current battery.

Lepto: Care to share the details? I'd also like to add a battery (and charging subsystem) to my Beagleboard, and you sound like you've already figured it out ..

Pocket diesel aggregate or plutonium reactor anybody?
I guess that if somebody need such amount of power, then he/she can carry spare batteries or external notebook accumulator in backpack.

truck batteries, that's the way to go, plus you get really fit lugging em around all the time :D

Why not just get the pandora then if you feel you need more battery power then look into a bigger battery. I think the current battery will be large enough to suit most peoples needs :)

yes, but why 6000mah? lets make it 8000mah! or 10.000! or why not 20.000?

too expensive, i suppose?

And not possible in same size as the current accu I would say.

Not much figuring really. I'm using an unbranded version of this. The 5v port (USB) is only rated at 1A so I'm using that to power the beagleboard and my head mounted display. I have a voltage regulator wired up to the 19v port which is rated at 3.5A, and I'm using that to supply 5v to a powered USB hub. That leaves the 12v port free for an external 3.5" HDD if I feel the need. I've not drawn anything like that current from it (yet) but it seems to be doing the job admirably so far. I hope this helps :)

+1 :)
even though 6000 is itself bigger than 4000

I'm thinking of building an Arc Reactor and powering my Pandora "Ironman" style :D

That way I can use the glow to light up the keys and basically everything else.

Serious? I thought more power would make the unit only smaller.
