Well I have noticed something, since releasing Checklist nobody seems much interested in updating the GP32 section of DrMD, which happens to be the most popular Emu of almost any handheld system to date.

The GP2X version of DrMD has already seen a lot of interest, does this seem to fortify the feeling that the GP32 is on the way out? Yes and No, I guess we all at one stage will move on. I for one still carry my GP32 in my handbag, but if my fella gave me a GP2X for Christmas, er, well I guess I would give my GP32 to him.

GP32 you have been a marvel, and you still are my fluffy friend. But I can see within a few years, you're going to be part of the retro past we all remember fondly.

Long live the GP32.

There will of course be a time when the GP32 will fade, and the Gizmondo GP2X will take her crown. Personally I am content with what the GP32 has to offer - ace emulators such as DrMD, DrSMS, LittleJohn GP, fGB32, GPFrodo, CaSTaway/GP; slick interpreters the like of GPDoom, GPQuake Heretic/Hexen32; powerful homebrew games Bolcatoid, Bolcataxian, GPWar2, MiniGame Project, ScorchedGP, GPSpout; and of course useful apps the likes of GPDrive and LazyReader. Not to mention that I have yet to do some C programming on it and port my existing games.

If F-Day ever happens on the GP2x, then it will become a must. But really, I have a GP2x and all it has going for it at the moment are the neo-geo and SD support.

It's the potential that is so exciting!

Now why wouldn't fDay happen on both the GP32 and the GP2X? I remember ED posted a photo a couple of months ago showing both running an fEmulator. Granted, they might run better on the 2X, but I am confident that we will see 32 releases as well as 2X ones. :)

True, but we are all still convinced that F-day on the GP2x will have 100% perfect Emus of snes, ps1, ps2, psp, Xbox, Xbox 360, Saturn, Mega CD, 32x, PS3 AND BBC Micro.

It's what we are all holding out for.

We should be getting both releases at the same time if Rleyhs (sp?) Hyper Portable Library is anything to go by.
http://www.emulnation.info/retrodev/ (fourth post down). All he needs to do is code once, compile per platform without any code changes.

i'm done holding my breath for it and just have the mind set that it is not going to happen. This was announced 2 years ago and i'm no longer going to wait in anticipation. There were alot of people excited about this, and i know homebrew is for the developer, not neccessarily the community, but with a community that was in such anticipation of this day at least he could've done was posted that the project was delayed for a year or what. AFAIK, he's never posted anything about delays.

I have been using a GP32 NLU all this time. This week I ordered a brand new BLU. When it arrives I will be making some trips to your site. My GP32 thrills are still going strong! I have yet to feel the push to upgrade. It was last year about this time that I got my NLU and now a BLU. Hmmmmmm..... maybe next year about this time.............GP2X? :D

Yea, you sure as hell told him. 12 high-quality emulators coded by one single man are your birthright, how dare he take his time!

it ain't cool to bag on rlyeh but it's understandable that some people would be disappointed, given his past work (always very well-done)

either way he knows he is appreciated for the work he's done. yeah it would be cool to see an fDay GP32 release but i heavily doubt it as well. There's absolutely plenty of other software on the system to entertain though, so it's not a gaping loss...

Actually F-day would have been a more significant release for the GP2X than the GP32. The GP32 has pretty much great emus for most everything already. The GP2X is missing more and has alot more holes as far as quality emus.

As far as the GP32 goes for many things a newer system doesn't give you much more anyway. I mean once you emulate at 100% a faster system isn't going to emulate at 120% I use my GP2X more just because the screen contrast, brightness and color saturation is much better than my BLU. If my BLU screen was as good I would still use that the most.

Rlyeh's emus, like Reesy's, are just so damned nice to use. The interfaces, the sheer user friendliness of them.

I really want and hope and believe we will see them. I for one would pay a fair bit for them......(Hint)

i'm not bagging on Ryleh, all i'm saying is that it'd be nice to have a post somewhere stating the project has been delayed or something. F-day affected everybody with a GP32, and i could probably bet after reading his first post, 90% of us with GP32s got excited for F-day.

What is depressing is that most of the fDay-emulators are most likely already at a stage of completion that makes them better than many GP32 emulators and pretty much anything released on the GP2X so far (except for emus like DrMD or GPMame).

It would be nice if R'lyeh would at least say something. ANYTHING. The silence is killing me, AAGGHHHHH!!! *sound of frail mind finally snapping*

...

Seriously, isn't anybody here who knows him and can ask him for some kind of statement?

I would be happy even if he said something like "Fday is dead, **** off.", just so I can finally stop thinking about it.

P.S.: I didn't mean to offend anybody or imply that R'lyeh is lazy or anything like that, I'm just desperate.
