Gp32 Cd

Or donate it to gp32x.de
i wonder if you know that there are other people supporting the gp32scene beside gp32x... to mention gp32spain for example.

To the guy who plans that CD
I think you can include the following games I am connect to as long as you do NOT make profit for any reason.

Gianas Return v0.90 (project set on ice).
Xump v0.90 (new version out soon, hopefully), Kedo won't say anything to this but you should still ask him for permission to include his Battleships as he has done it alone.

Seems I can drop the idea of my PDR Archive on DVDR :D ...

I don't see why you should drop your idea. Why not make a German version :D

There's another point, if it's going to be international...
Does anyone want to translate the readme and tutorial .swf?

Gianas Return, last time I check they don't want the product on anything but their site.
Theres also a copy of Bomberman about which the original developer has withdrawn and wishes it not to be shared anymore

Yeah, he says that I can't put that one on it. Thanks for the help though :D

Also not to dissapoint anyone but for obvious reasons I can't include BOR mods and DOOM wads, pwads and iwads.
But trust me this disk will be packed to the brim. I'll put as much as I can legally put on it.

You might as well put GOR on, as it's only 5 1/2 mb
Can I also have the permission from your mate that made the flash movies.
I don't want some crazy Mum sueing me.

yay nice!

i hope theres a menu with rating / description / screenshots /genre for each game (+ability to search/sort).

that'd be great!

He says yes you can, he won't sue ye, he's also letting spam use them for the badtoad book.

Eek!
I guess it could be done :D
What would be best?
A flash movie, a HTML document or a .txt?
Also is this entirely correct:
http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?act=S...=45#entry207170
This is a tutorial telling you what to do, it wil be included with the CD.

the best thing imho would be a html site powered by php + mysql so we can add stuff easily. the downside is that the user would have to run a mini http server to access it (like with google desktop search).

you could also use a custo made programm, but that'd screw up the linux users (hmm... a windows webserver also).

so i guess flash would be nice (if done right it shouldn't be too much work).
as alternative one could add a html page, but you won't be able to sort / search for games.

again, what i'd like to see:

a ListOfGames (tm)

each game with:
1+ screenshot(s)
description
genre
final / beta, but fine / beta / alpha
similar games (you might also like)
released by
contact the author (if the author agrees)
game homepage (or where to get updates from)

When I downloaded Evil Dragon's site, I also got all the webpages (parsed to html from cgi) and images.. all the links work without the need to run a home server..

Running off no_ skill's idea but have the site at home and 'download' it to a series of html files for shipment.

I just made a slightly better tutorial:

the problem with this is: i want to use a search function on the cd html site and result sorting etc. this can't be done with a static html page.

Here's a list of things that definatly can't be on the disk:

BOR Mods (apart from ones that have nothing ripped at all)
GPCinema
Demos made by pay2play companies eg Gamepark games
homebrewn games containing ripped sprites or sound etc...
DOOM wads and pwads (I have emailed ID if the program itself is ok)
SCUMMVM games (most are illegal in the first place, actually I'm going to ask about BASS, revolution are a nice bunch :D )
ROMS no way in hell, no hacks or totally new ones, to risky

Does this put anyone of?
Don't forget I'm just trying to keep me and possibly others from being sued :D

Remember this still includes hundreds of homebrewn games and emulators. Heh, I'm sure someone will make you a dodgy BOR disk anyway ;)

EDIT:

Here's the graphics:

CD: http://img73.exs.cx/img73/1940/cd0vs.png
inside the booklet: http://img73.exs.cx/img73/9356/cdpage119hy.jpg
back of case: http://img73.exs.cx/img73/3791/backofcdcase3zu.jpg
and here's the front cover: http://img142.exs.cx/img142/7025/cdpage4eg.jpg (laughable)

So as you can see graphics aren't my forte, the most annoying part is the fact that they took me ages. So if anyone wants to help with graphics, be my guest.

I think you should use the font and style that you've used on the cd for the front cover and the same font for the booklet and back cover. It's got a nice clean style to it.
