Alright, I am real sorry if this question has popped up before, but seriously, with the new Gamepark consoles coming out, do you think they will support programs for the Gp32? You know, like backwards compatibiliy.
Sorry if this has cropped up before.

zyou are right, this has been asked to death. The answer is no. There is no backward compatibility at all. This is mostly due to the fact that the operating systems are so completely different, as well as the hardware. GP32 was its own mini OS, and GP2x has linux...

There's still the concept of wrappers for the old programs but at the same time there arnt many games worth going through the trouble of creating one for it. And most of the homebrew is likely to be ported (yes there are a few that might not but it's not a signifigant number to warrent a wrapper either.)

Ah, I'm sorry. Would one mod be so kind as to delete / close this thread please. I'm really sorry. Flame if you will.
I think its a legit question, though often asked :) If that never happened, we'd never have anything to discuss :D

I am planning on keeping my GP32. I will probably buy a GP2X early next year but the GP32 will still have a place in my collection of gadgets.

Well, I can think of a few... there WERE some good commercial games (Blue Angelo), and not all homebrew is going to be ported.

I hope my GP32 won't die or anything - lately the frontlight on my FLU has begun to stop working (as in, it only glows slightly rather than a lot). This seems to happen when the batteries are low, but it never happened before - it simply stopped working previously. If I turn it off and then on again it's bright once more, at least for a while. Well, as long as it works well on full batteries, I guess. ;)

Well there probably wont be backwards compatability with commercial gp32 games,
but we can expect some similar homebrew games emulators & interpreters (hopefully more
advanced versions!) to those on the GP32 since most of the scene seems to have pre-orders down on the new system.

It's quite a testament to the GP32 I think that so many were so happy with it that they
have pre-ordered it's successor... I had a PS2 but wont be getting the PS3, but can't
wait for my GP2x.
